Re: Eminence EPS-12C for application other than steel guitar

Curious about speaker this myself. Based on it's design and frequency response, I would imagine it is a great speaker.

Eminence EM12

Love it. Started off using it with a D-Lite, then morphed to a Bluesmaster, now a hybrid withe built in D-Lator, etc. With all the 2nd guessing, and tone trying, etc. The speaker has always sounded great, and IMHO sounds just as good or better than my cab loaded with actual EVM-12L. IMHO, you can't ...

Re: Best Guitar Cable

When I crunched the numbers (materials, shipping, etc), I found it was going to cost me nearly as much to make cables myself, as to have them made by this guy: http://bayoucables.com/
So, I ordered some from him. When I received the cables, they were all made very well, and I have no complaints.

Lil Devil

Does anybody know how I can get hold of Dana Hall? I have sent PM's and emails to the last email address I had, and haven't received a response. I found a Lil Devil kit in a box in my shop, But no scheme, nor layout. After looking back through emails and PM's it looks like I bought it back in 2008, ...

Re: Clarification request: Aiken's "grounding" tutoria

Thanks for the input, everyone. I will have to study some of the responses to understand better.... Nevertheless, I implemented the "Aiken" input ground cap, even though I don't understand how a cap from input ground lug to chassis could be lower impedance than the straight wire right next to it. I ...

Re: Clarification request: Aiken's "grounding" tutoria

I found this helpful... http://el34world.com/charts/grounds.htm Basically you don't want to connect all the ground points on the same rail as it will increase noise. You take individual sections of the amp and ground the to 1 main point on the chassis but you do so independently not just in one big...

Re: D'lite to Bluesmaster migration testing

Very cool. Thanks for the report. Are you using a bright cap anywhere? Keep in mind that when you start lifting the tone stack, you begin to lose control over frequency shaping, but that's the point ;) If you like the general direction that the PAB is giving you, you may want to look to other areas...

Clarification request: Aiken's "grounding" tutoria

Could someone clarify this concept that I read in Randall Aiken's "grounding" tutorial? What it says is: " While the star ground is excellent for eliminating ground loop hum, it is not always the best scheme for preventing radio-frequency interference (RFI). Fortunately, there is a simple addition t...

Re: D'lite to Bluesmaster migration testing

Ok. I got a chance to dial it up. The best I could dial in was 50K on bass, and 330K on mids (actual readings were 48.7K and 328.3K). I actually liked the equalization the best at 27K bass and 180K mids. But, not enough boost was happening there. To get the amount of boost I wanted, and not too bott...
