It has also got me thinking of having notch filters in the between the amp and the speaker
That would be TOO much of a fix. Start with the source of the problem, which appears to be the power source. Is your step-down grounded, is it encased in a cabinet, is the ground(earth) wire con...

Re: Structo....question 4 U

Is there any loading caused by the output section? From this I am asking once you balance the PI section, does the balance stay effective even if you switch power tubes?

Re: Zenith Console Stereo amp

That almost looks like .75 ohms. I would Verify the ratio on those transformers using a small AC supply. You could buy some inexpensive iron to replace it.

I have often thought about trying a small "stereo" rig using a slight delay between the cabs. Looks like fun !

Re: Trademark Infringement

When did the Mesa Express come out? When was the TW Express introduced? I think RS was trampling on infringement rights ! From what I have heard, TW would have copyright rights to the name Express simply from the product being on the market.

Re: Advice on cleaning vintage crackle coating?

Sellout, the pink stuff is Naval Jelly and it will clean the rust. We used it as teenagers to clean the rust off of bicycle rims, etc. Work great if you let it sit up awhile.

I also saw some of the wrinkle finish at my local Lowe's store yesterday. You may not have a Lowe's, but maybe a Home Depot.

Re: Rear vs. front loaded cabinet

You would drill the normal 8 holes in the wood. Position # 1, 3, 5, 7 from the front and 2, 4, 6, 8 from the back. That would give you the flexability that you want.
