Re: Where did KF hide the 220K resistors?
Er... I was looking at the Kelley90 schematics you sent me to? It is in the physical pics - Francesca and Kelley90 - and written in the schematic fro Kelley90. Are you with me, Brother gearhead? Er.. I trust people here, no problem. Actually, I thought that some of those schematics from Blue Gtr wer...

Re: Where did KF hide the 220K resistors?
gearhead - OK, I see what you are talking about and yes, I have read where many here are using this pwr supply cappage layout. But it is the Blue Guitar schematics that I am looking at mainly. They are just presented in a more organized way and - without that weird 470K resistor to ground that bridg...

Re: Where did KF hide the 220K resistors?
OK, I get the dual 40uf + single 40. This has to be correct because they are all the same size. Do you think this was original KF - or were the originals replaced? Thank you for this answer, gearhead. What confuses me here is the schematic that shows two 160uf caps in series with the bridging 220K r...

Re: Clarostat Pots, aka Allesandro branded..
I cannot open that BOM, it seems to be some type of Excel spread sheet and I do not have that on this computer. Care to send me a PDF file of it? And if not, then I can tell you where I purchased my Allesandro branded PEC pots that are probably what you are finding in that list. Remember too, that y...

Re: Datasheets
Omar, Hi. Could you find and post the physical specs on the new
laydown version of the Tonesluts PT? I will have one in a few days from Chris so I can send you that info, but maybe you have a better way? Thanks.

Where did KF hide the 220K resistors?
Looking at the pwr supply and the 160uf caps, where did KF place the 220K resistors that run in parallel? I am looking at pics of Francesca, for example. Are they just strapped onto the caps and hidden in the silicone or is there something more clever that I cannot see? BTW, can I assume that these ...

Re: Clarostat Pots, aka Allesandro branded..
Lonely Raven - Arghh! I am working with you so much as a wood working magician I forget that you are in this as deep as the rest of us!!! So, regarding TW pots, yes, I think your suggestion is a good one, with the 'group buy' but I don't think it necessary here. Honestly, even buying the PECs at who...

Re: Clarostat Pots, aka Allesandro branded..
OK, to gearhead goes this answer: At 12 o'clock with a perfect 30% taper, the pot value being 1meg audio, the pot's resistance would be 300K. With 10% taper it would be 100K. Fender's pots at 12 o'clock were typically 500K, or half the value of the pot - and yes - BTW, they were called 30% taper. I ...

Re: Clarostat Pots, aka Allesandro branded..
Thanks for all the help here. I have to agree that not only is Precision a quality potentiometer maker, they are also very responsive to my questions and needs. One thing I don't understand however, based on the responses here, is why none of you seem too interested in 30% taper audio pots. Why is t...

Clarostat Pots, aka Allesandro branded..
Hi. Here's a question for anyone who can direct me to the right part: Where do I find 1 meg volume pots with 30% audio taper - with the quality of Clarostat? Anyone? I think I have tried any and everything, now including the Allesandro part which is a 10% taper. Is 10% the max for Clarostat? Did the...

Re: Foil tape on a power xformer ? Nicking bad ?
Its an added shield that surrounds the entire coil, not hi-mu but sort of. The tranny will still work fine, but you may have reduced the overall sheilding of stray 'electons' or magnetic 'pulses'. Just find something similar in size - copper foil is best - and carefully patch the new piece on with a...

Re: Transformers and phasing issues
OK, I assume you are refering to the AC input voltage leads on the primary side, the AC filament pair on the secondary side, and the secondary AC (ultimately B+) leads? And you probably have the knowledge to have already grounded the center taps on the filament and the secondary AC coils? If 'yes', ...
