Re: Electric Guitar recording setup
Depends on if I am at work or at home. At work I use an ipad, and at home I use an ipod. It sounds terrible, and people are familiar with that. Saves having to patch a bunch of gear just for me. lol

Re: 1 meg 100k concentric pot
Sometimes you can buy the value you need along with the dual and do some surgery to get all the right parts in the one pot.
Limiting will work, but I have very mixed results when doing it, for the most part. Theory is good. Reality isn't perfect.

Re: NOS? NIB?? UOS???
Yeah, they are around. Most places where you find them is a pile too. Not something you normally find in tiny quantities. Hundreds at a time, thousands. Tests great and has clear screening of ink as new is NOS, and the box is also part of the deal. The box might totally suck and have water damage, o...

Re: bruno cowtipper schematic
Close enough to take a picture = close enough to reach for a screwdriver. The same but fatter or bigger? Like the Rockster boost on the TW forum that might just be a parallel gain stage. Get the tools out. You won't be able to tell by the circuit (lol) but you will be able to see what goop glob the ...

Re: Express Low End
If you like the sound but it just lacks lowend, always try the fixed res first. Everything else changes other things along the way.. You might like those things though. :) Uhoh.. let's address the tone controls not doing much when you change settings. Compared to what? Not as much as a BF Fender, an...

Re: bruno cowtipper schematic
An added tube IS a trivial mod. OMG stop it. lol ;) Don't make me build a Fender. I could easily build one that good and that ugly, and I probably have everything except transformers somewhere at GZ51, the top secret govt facility where dead amps go before the Devil has his way. I just got a great i...

Banjo? Ban-jer.
Wow. Bluegrass drum takes another life. All in a day's work around here. I bet you there are 50 songs about that story before the end of festival season.

Re: Rockster Booster
If there was a trimmer you could trust with B+ on it like that, I am convinced over the course of a week you could dial in magic on any good amp that you would never find without it. I don't have enough courage or 100k pots to do them all variable.. but I will. ;) If the amp is too bright, you just ...

Re: Express Low End
Fixed res might do it for you. .0047 in series with the NFB wire to wherever it is now. You just turn the bass down a notch or two. Thumpy, no mud.
.0022 gets you more low mids and might be mud, but maybe not. Express has a bright face.
