ceriatone 2204 layout with an FX loop question
so I am looking at the layout drawing of the ceriatone 2204 marshall they offer, and i have notice that they have put in an FX loop into the amp between the treble control and the MV with no other components involved other than the jacks. ummmmmmmmmmm does this actually work without ruining the amp?

Re: tightening up the trainwreck lowend
I will go through and do up a schematic. I also added an adjustable NFB control to the amp, using a 50k Linear pot and 50k resistor. The amp is not farty by any means, BUT it is not Soldano low-end tight. I have some high-gain madness I have built and love, I also REALLY enjoy the help out of the to...

tightening up the trainwreck lowend
I built myself a cute little trainwreck express with a ton of silly mods. Marshall style MV(NOT a PPIMV) slope resistor/potentiometer to go from 50K-150K so every where from a marshall slope to a dumble. vox style clarity control (250kA-4uF7 cap). MV solo boost (1M pot on a grounded jack for power s...

HV switch from 300V to 260V
I have a new build I am working on using the classic tone TW style trannies. I am curious if and HOW I can switch between the 300v and 260v taps on the secondary? I did do some searching here but did not find anything

Re: 2204 volume goes up and down?!?!?!
could it be the caps? specifically the 50uf/50uf's in there? I retubed it last week and have been using it in the studio, the issue is a bit less but still definitely there at random. I removed the low input and make it a solo boost foot switch jack instead. could it be a crummy input jack itself? I...

still having some MAJOR volume drops, I did smack the amp and it jumped back in volume, but there is no crackling like a cold solder joint or anything...............

2204 volume goes up and down?!?!?!
ok, I have a home brew 2204 I am using in my studio right now and it is doing a weird thing. the volume of the amp is going up and down at seemingly random times. I can literally see the wave form I am recording shrink down and then come back in a few seconds. What the heck could this be? are my fil...

Re: removing the LOW input on a 2204 while maintaining the tone
it turned out to be the V1 LITERALLY went microphonic after I put this back together. swapped out the tube and blamm-o chirp is gone

Re: removing the LOW input on a 2204 while maintaining the tone
that worked wonderfully! the only thing is I now have a little "chirp/squeak" in the amp when I palm mute the hell out of it on the lower strings. could this be a cold solder joint from the moves i just made?

removing the LOW input on a 2204 while maintaining the tone
I will never use the low input jack on my 2204 build, I want to get rid of it and use that jack whole for a solo boost jack input. should I run 2 wires from the hot of the HIGH jack to the original LOW jack connection to maintain the tone and gain of the JCM800?
