Re: HAD Modded Princeton - Project
A Princeton has to have BIAS Trem, Reverb and cathodyne p.i. IMHO :) The 5F2 didn't have any of them..... I guess you mean a Princeton REVERB has to have all 3? cheers, yes  the reverb is the better amp IMHO all round , everyone should have one and a tweed deluxe  here a...

Re: AN Wonderland/JM 100w layout
Thank you all, I'm sorry but it's not entirely my fault, after hours of testing, measuring I found that what I took for granted was not. I ordered a dozen 1M resistors and I was sent some brown resistors whose colored bands were not clearly visible and I did not realize that their value was not the...

Re: Clapton's amps
I don't like the sound of them at all. I much prefer his sound when he was using the Soldano's and the EV 4x12. Also on a personal level, he was really sick a few years ago, could hardly play, was in a wheel chair !! then he got better , did crossroads 2019 :) ... then he had the covid vaccine and it...

Franco, Excellent, I'm looking forward to finding out how the FET is on this amp. in the English language we have different words for welding and soldering unlike Italian that uses 'Saldare' for both :) Welding in English usually means joining peices of metal together , Mig welding, Tig welding , Sp...

Re: Corrupted PT
A good tip. Ever since Classictone went out of business, transformers seem hard to come by? Why not using Hammond transformers? I have standard Twin Reverb transformers (290FEX PT) in my build and I'm very happy with the result. For 50w use the 290EEX. https://www.hammfg.com/files/parts/pdf/290EEX....

You can also do the Z-Wreck which is a rocket with some tweaks. Have search for my bu...

Re: Some reverb tank isolation ideas?
which reverb tank is it? I had trouble with the tank in my Princeton build and eventually realised the tank was faulty and about 6 months later that batch of tanks was officially acknowledged as bad. This was the MOD tank. Just a thought. Symptoms were it would start to self oscillate randomly and f...

Re: A baritone guitar amplification system thats a bit different
you're describing the traditional wet/dry set up. I use such a setup sometimes which is why I put a line out on most of my amps. I take the line out into a volume pedal then into the reverb etc full wet then send that to a stero power amp into 2x12 inch speakers. You control the wet level with the v...
