Touch-up the cap connections. Your tap may have been hard enough to affect another joint, so if that cap
didn't do it, reheat connections closest to it. Of course the cap may have an internal intermittent contact.

Re: Music Man 100-RD
The power tubes are driven at the cathodes, and the suppressor/beam forming plates are grounded, but they are internally connected. So how is the cathode modulating the current flow if it's grounded? What am I missing?

Parts Source
Just found Surplus Sales of Nebraska.
The site is huge with new and surplus parts of every
description. Lots of tubes. Here's a source for those old SVT tubes:

Re: "EF86" sound from 12AX7 tube?
Seems like they just got tired of dealing with the EF86's shortcomings. If I wanted to get rid of the EF86 while keeping its high gain, I would replace it with a twin triode configured as a cascode. edit: thinking alike, I guess. Whichever one you feed” Apparently I fed the wrong one jalapeño poppers last night and it took the form of a rabid badger t...

10mV is well minimized, but what is the source? When that is identified it can be not just reduced, eliminated. Even low level oscillations will heterodyne with signal to make the signal less pristine.
