Re: Lowest price Dumble clones in Europe?

In my opinion, the FET input is required to make single coils work well with this circuit. YMMV.

Re: #124 CAP QUESTION

Sven checkout my 102 build there's a layout Martin did for All rock and no jazz. M Where is that sch.? I mean no offense to anyone, but I find it interesting that guys can get a full amp built and working without the basic knowledge to modify the circuit for rock only. I don't understand that thoug...

Re: Different Speakers same Baffle Board

"You can get weird harmonic issues with dissimilar speakers on the same baffle board."
That's a rather meaningless statement.

Re: UP dumble for sale

I have an original, built by Dumble SSS. It is the greatest sounding amp ever. It can sound exactly like, or better than, Carlton, Ford, Hendrix, Allmans, SRV, EJ et al. This amp is the greatest amp I have ever heard - live or recorded. It sounds so good that words just can't do it justice. Shimmeri...

Re: installing VVR2 in rocket

yes I've been looking at Dana's instructions now I 've found them. can I ask why it's necessary to move the 1M resistor on the input 'After' the newly installed cap? and where's the best place to ground it? mine is obviously still before and seems to work although not 100% scratch free. there also ...

Re: installing VVR2 in rocket

IME, coupling caps are necessary to avoid scratchy pots. Even for a modest amount of attenuation. You found that out. Follow Dana's instructions as they are correct. I have also found that the chassis is often not a good enough heat sink, although, that depends on the chassis alloy, configuration an...

I dug up some old email and found Tom's last name. Google search reveals nothing under his name in Oregon.

IMO, the grill clothe has style and class. I wouldn't mess with it at all. Original is good in my book.

Re: Came across this Fractal AxeFX demo #102 style - impressed!

You can go a long way with a 5E3. I like a little reverb too. That and a good organic delay can create some magic with that amp.

I have been GASing for a Helix for some time now...

Re: Can I get the enough clean volume(headroom) with EL84 pair?

I wrote a long post, but the forum software glitched and it is lost. Here is the short version. I have a Mesa Lonestar Special with 5/15/30W settings and 4 EL84s. The 30W mode is the only one that can get even close to having strong cleans with enough volume to get over a drummer. I find myself alwa...

Re: Has anyone tried the Roland Blues Cube with the Robben Ford?

Modeling for sure. It's got a DSP in it. There is a lot of marketing going on. They claim they replicate the Tweed circuit with multi-channels, DSP, etc... Modeling has come a long way and there are quite a few good solutions...and they are getting better. Roland has a lot of competition on t...
