This is the key I feel.
Built a 6G6B clone, and put a similar pre and PI in a DR and they sing in a way the BFs just don't.
I'm using ANOS and used RCAs and GEs for pre and PI tubes.
Good luck.

Re: Jan short bottle 6l6wgb

I have several sets I scored, and I really like them.
I use them in my HRM ODS, and also in my 6G6b clone.
They rock.

Just make sure they don't leave an unused triode.

Re: fender Bassman 50 to #102 Robben Ford Dumble amp

Hi Keith-
When I built my TL806s, I glued and screwed and then sealed all interior joints with epoxy. Glued and screwed the baffle in place and then epoxied that.
As you say, that sucker is tight, and solid.
Good luck with it.

Re: How to make the most pedal-friendly Plexi?

What Reel said.

My 2/4x6V6 Rocket-style is a good pedal platform.
Not too bright, not too high gain.
My normal channel 6G6B Bassman combo is an excellent pedal platform.

Too bad about these Weber posts. The same comments are being made on the Weber site.
The amp kits, and amp building, were Ted's thing, the dad.
TA, the son now in charge, has focused the business much more on the speakers, which are their core business.

Re: 69 Deluxe Reverb wiring

That wiring in the SFs is indicative of production having been moved to Mexico, and away from the little ladies in Fullerton, who did such beautiful and permanent wiring work. As the post above says, CBS wanted to increase production and cut costs. What's the line? "Good, cheap, and fast-you can hav...

Re: fender Bassman 50 to #102 Robben Ford Dumble amp

Hey Keith-
Just an FYI, Alexander, and many others, have run 1X12 TL806 cabs with single EVM12l with
a standard, that is 4 ohm, output transformer.
Don't spend the money unless you don't like how it sounds.
It's a tried and true application.

Re: Where are the amp builds?

I'm sorry to hear of your health issues Mark, and everyone else also, the passage of time is a b*tch. I count myself as very fortunate to be in good health. Build output is down, the last one is a normal channel only 6G6-B Bassman, with Mag Comp txs from Gomez Amps. In a combo with single 12, and it...
