Re: If you goop, watch out for vinegar.

A great reason to give a speaker enclosure plenty of time to dry before installing speakers if you use any type of sealant.

Is this a new build or a new problem to an otherwise functioning amp?

Re: ATA Case

I buy my supplies from Penn Fabrication. www.penn-fabrication.com Foam - polyethylene 2" (50mm) M62951 24" x 108" sheets (6.72lbs) I use the 2" foam for all shock mounting. In some head cases I'll use 1.5" It depends on weight. for combo amps I use 2" on the bottom. then depending on design and the...

Re: ATA Case

My gut feeling is the compartment should be on the bottom with the heavy dense foam load should not be an issue. Mark, What type of foam are you using for your interior? I wanted to build a couple of cases (if nothing else, just for storage) for head cabs and was stuck on foam choice. Wasn't sure i...

Re: Seymour Duncan Triple Shot Switched Humbucker Rings

My main humbucker guitar has two humbuckers with a 5 way. In #2 positon they are split with the coils closest to the bridge in parallel. More quiet and mildly quacky. Middle or #3 the neck side split in series, a full sound, sort of strat like middle. #4 is the neck side split singles in parallel, ...

Re: Seymour Duncan Triple Shot Switched Humbucker Rings

you can always use push pull pots  That's what I'm using now, one push/pull per pickup for coil tap, and another for the bridge pickup for series/parallel. I'd also like to try inverting phase on a pickup, and have the ability to put each pickup in series as well as both pickups together in s...

Re: Seymour Duncan Triple Shot Switched Humbucker Rings

Does it seem like it's made solid? The switches look like they may not last and I read a review on musicians friend where the user stated the ring was flimsy. Also, how good is the fit to the contour of your les paul?

Seymour Duncan Triple Shot Switched Humbucker Rings

Anyone ever used there or seen them first hand? I have been "messing" with phase, series/parallel, and single coil switching on an Ibanez with 2 humbuckers and 3 pots. I'd like to add more switches without drilling holes and this seemed like a good option. It's a PITA rewiring everything over and ov...

Re: Lengthening iron leads

I dont know if I have the correct answer for you, but I can share my experience. I have done it successfully 2 different ways... 1) Strip enough insulation off of the 2 leads to be connected and fold each stripped end in half, essentially making 2 "hooks", join the hooks together, pinch them so ther...

Re: DuraTex acrylic coating

I always wondered how something like this would feel/hold up... Boogafunk does something similar with their cabinets, though they call it a "proprietary coating" and it may differ from the material posted above. To me there's just something (patience) about a good tolex job... that I lack... So I've...

my avatar pic is a 1965 Fender Jaguar in burgundy mist, I picked it up from a music store i worked at. it had been in the back store room for almost 20 years. they hit hard times and couldn't pay me so to wipe the bill clean they gave me the guitar. turned out it was a produce demo one of 3 made fo...

Re: Calling all Les Paul Gurus...

just saying it's a grey area in gibson serial numbers. I paid $610.00 USD in '98 in Portland Oregon for mine. Wow, quite a score! I guess I'll have to find a knowledgeable vintage dealer and have them give it a going over some day, you never know what you don't know til you find someone that knows....
