Re: What're you listening to right now??
Headed over to your neck of the wood in a about 10 days for a week of much needed R and R. We rented a place in Jenner, out on the coast. It is so freakin beautiful out there and we try to go yearly in the late fall. That part of California oozes creativity and it's nice to tap in once and a while. ...

Re: What're you listening to right now??
You are so lucky to have grown up around the Hoops. I discovered Jesca only a few years ago through her association with Blake Mills (another California treasure) and last week was the second time I've seen her live. The first time was 2 years ago and it ranks in the top 10 live performances I've wi...

That Guns and Roses cover is great! Reminds me of Volfpeck.
I'm going to see Jesca Hoop in Seattle on Friday.

Re: reverb feeding back in new Princeton build
I make reverb pan bags out of Tolex. Single or double layer (double is better isolation from vibrations from the cab), simply folded together and secured with spray adhesive. I've used staples as well. Then fasten to the cab with a couple of screws. I've found the reverb tank stuck to the speaker ma...

The PR can be a rats nest by nature. Yours looks pretty well organized.

Re: Princeton reverb build in a trainwreck chassis
Not intending to hijack the thread but... I did the Paul C Mod from rob Robinette's web site. Scroll down to find it. https://robrobinette.com/AA1164_Princeton_Reverb.htm I'm mentioning this because my impression is that Marcus likes amps that have some meat to them (I do too) and this mod made the ...

Re: Princeton reverb build in a trainwreck chassis
I'm using a Eminence JS1250 in the PR I built a while back and love it. Here is a demo of the speaker... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITReyFf6iM4 Josh plays through a Morgan Amp which is based on a PR. Also, I recently changed the cathodyane PI to a fixed bias cathodyne (Martin Manning correction...

Re: Best electric guitar and amp for an acoustic player
I was going to say Telecaster with heavier strings as well. 011s at least. Maybe even 12s. It sounds like you already have a good tele. What I really like is a tele with Gold Foil Pickups. The feel under the fingers is more like an acoustic. Way less twangy, warm, with compression and decay more lik...

Re: positioning output transformer on Fender build
I headphone the choke as well as the OT. Find the quietest spot for both.
Here's my rig.. I soldered up a jack and use the Alligator clips on the leads.
Love that dead quiet idle.
