Re: Fetron

Only 12 wires to desolder? I probably don't even need a drawing or photograph to reference for that few connections to deal with. I've worked on radio equipment that requires you to desolder and remove over 40 wires in order to get the main board out. Big deal. People who gripe about Mesa amps don'...

Re: Tom (Structo)

Tom, maybe Phil can hook you up to your old account and username? Be like old times again. I definitely can, pretty easily. If you either send me a PM from the new account with some basic info like what the email address was on the old one, or if others feel pretty confident it's the real you and n...

Re: Tom (Structo)

Structo, glad to hear from you. I've taken over your duties of keeping the forum alive. sorry to hear about the stroke, my aunt went through the same thing recently and recovery is rough, but glad you're getting through it!

Re: Fender 400 PS, now on the bench. Know anything about this?

Saying it's an "R&T C package" tells me exactly nothing. Like "Oh, that's a left-handed retwizzlated garfledob." Do you have any other information to offer about this device, its manufacture, its type, or function, to give me some context? wow, that's a super nice way to ask for help. It's a multi ...

Re: AC15TBX - Cage and Reverb

This is possibly the right one: https://www.partsisparts.net/catalog/vox-reverb-transformer-ac15tbx-ac15tb BUT it's discontinued, you may contact the site and see if they are just 'gone' or what. It looks like a dagnall d2477 from the photo? Maybe you can contact them about the specs to get one or t...

Re: Thinking about moving south

I've got nothing against Disney's workers but The Mouse Is Evil. It buys up good things and turns them bad. And it sure has contributed greatly to urban sprawl all around Central Florida. I'd be more worried about the herpes carrying monkeys on the loose down there. I heard about these when I was o...

Re: Thinking about moving south

I've lived in Florida since '75 and over here on the east coast, it's pretty much an unbreakable rule that STRONG hurricanes never hit here. Much as I wish a Category 5+ hurricane would utterly wipe Orlando entirely off the face of the earth, and ESPECIALLY all Disney properties should be scoured d...

Re: My #102 build --- a forum supported build :)

Thanks to all that have sent me more parts. I've not had much time to do anything more, went away on a work trip then got back and went away on vacation. Finally trying to get back into tinkering on it. I'm building the precision power supply on this even though it's an older generation build. I was...

Love it, super cool looking 'old school' build.

Thanks for sharing.

A lot of expert knowledge on display here and I'm sure it's a common enough problem to qualify.

What say you?
I am fine with it, xtian do you care if I move the thread to faq?

Yes Please, sent email, unable to send PM’s here. You probably can, it's confusing when it goes into the 'outbox' and never seems to 'go' anywhere, but that just means the recipient hasn't seen it yet. Also PM's dont' email people due to a problem I can't fix... and therefore the only way they know...

Re: Thinking about moving south

Been on a business trip for a week, so I am catching up, but I grew up in Utah, super hot but dry summers, 90 most of the summer and over 100 for a good portion of it too, but I'll take that dry heat over humidity any day. I just pretty much hate heat at all after a tour in Iraq :D If I recall it wa...

for me the price of the amp on Reverb of €389,375.01 seems like real madness, I point out the .01.

I'm sure you're kidding, but that's just the translation of $399,999.99 into euro but that's probably obvious and I'm captain obvious :D

As a veteran myself, welcome! Another possible related issue affected by presense could be the OT leads on the power tubes may be in phase instead of inverting, so they create positive feedback. You could try swapping the OT leads and if it goes away that was the problem, if the sound becomes worse ...
