Re: I'm preparing to do a few gigs with this guy........

Hi Chaps, Thanks for all the input ! :D As you can tell, I'm quite excited by the prospect of doing this. I think the Pro is going to be there as a constant. Depending on the stage, the second amp is what may vary. I've definately thought of running the marshall or Trainwreck with the basketweave ca...

Re: I'm preparing to do a few gigs with this guy........

I should have really stated what I've got available to me from my amp stash. Currently: Vintage Pro Reverb Vintage Deluxe Reverb Fuchs ODS 100 SLX as a head or combo (I have both cabs), so with the head I run a Fuchs widebody 1x12 Fuchs Train 45 Trainwreck Express clone Marshall 50w plexi clone '69 ...

Re: I'm preparing to do a few gigs with this guy........

Well Rob if you are just pulling strictly rhthym duty, perhaps a straight up simple rig is in order. A nice clean or semi clean tone and tele or strat (if you play those) for reinforcement to his guitar god rig. :D There are certain requirements, strat tone is one of them, funky clean is another. I...

Re: I'm preparing to do a few gigs with this guy........

Wow, just wow - what a collection you've got there. I would probably take the MPX1 lexi + loopalator in a 2U rack 1 amp head (+ 1 spare) 1 cabinet that would be simpler and still super flexible. Whoah there boy :D , that's not my rig, it's his. And it's what I'm up against on stage ! He has some se...

Re: I'm preparing to do a few gigs with this guy........

What would you pit against this on stage??? Rob. Guitar -> Cable -> Single Channel Amp :D You know, that's not far away from what I'm thinking. I need to be a foil to his tones. I'm thinking of using my vintage Pro Reverb with a few choice pedals. The other option is my Fuchs ODS 100 combo, or perh...

I'm preparing to do a few gigs with this guy........

I've been asked to play second guitar on a small tour to support a friends new album. No probs, I like his album, I reckon I'll do a good job, then I see what he's taking on tour..... ! Re: Anyone compared the Emi Delta Pro to the neo Emi Deltalite?

I own a well worn in EV12L and it does reveal some high end fizz with some amps - not with others. As do the G1265 speakers. Seems to me you can adjust the amp for the speaker, or swap the speaker out to something darker like a RWB or Delta 12A. I always thought those DeltaLite neos were bass amp o...

Re: Anyone compared the Emi Delta Pro to the neo Emi Deltalite?

I have, and currently use the Lite version. I prefer them over the Delta Pro regular version, not quite as dark, and sound more like the EV. The EV is my favorite speaker, and the Delta Lite gets me 95% of that tone at 7 lbs. I currently use 2 in a ported 2x12 cab, and has become my main cab. They ...

Re: Anyone compared the Emi Delta Pro to the neo Emi Deltalite?

I haven't...but I'm curious as well. I have a Jensen Tornado that is pretty good, but I have no idea how it compares to the Emi, either. Folks coming to the Portland Dumblefest will have a chance to try out a pair of them in a cabinet if they like. (What's air fare from Heathrow?) I have Jensen Neo...

Anyone compared the Emi Delta Pro to the neo Emi Deltalite?

Hi Chaps,

Seems like everyone is coming out with neo versions of their speakers.

I've recently housed my Fuchs ODS100 into a combo and with the Delta Pro in there it's quite heavy. Before I fork out the cash to try one, has anyone else tried the Neo ??

Cheers,
Rob.

Re: Bandmaster Reverb, to build a Super Reverb or Vibroclone?

Hi Rob Allparts in the UK sell the Mojo cabs and they are less expensive than buying from TAD. I have an old Bandmaster Reverb head and I am doing the same Vibroclone thing. I have the Jensen Neo 15" and the cabinet is on order. Got the Jensen for a reasonable price from Hotrox UK. Is it a good ide...

Re: Bandmaster Reverb, to build a Super Reverb or Vibroclone?

Thanks for the ideas chaps. I've owned two Supers and they are beasts to move around, but nothing quite flaps your trouser legs like a Super Reverb :D I built a Vibroclone over ten years ago around a Pro Reverb chassis and I really liked it and have always regretted selling that too. My grab and go ...

Bandmaster Reverb, to build a Super Reverb or Vibroclone?

Hi Chaps, Just picked up a really clean Bandmaster Reverb head from '71 with the idea of building combo out of it. It will get the usual treatment, recap blackface mods etc, might even do the "Cool Mod" to the normal channel. I like the idea of the Vibroclone, smaller, lighter, only one speaker so i...
