Re: Faceplate price increases at Mojotone
Thanks Mark, I am less "corporate" in the way I deal with custom faceplates, at the end of the day we all want something different. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfX7CyFAmoA&t=196s You guys might find this video helpful ,most of these materials are available worldwide, but the hard engraving lamin...

Re: Faceplate price increases at Mojotone
I make a large number if custom faceplates, the quality of information you get from customers is often poor and what should be a quick job can quickly become a nightmare. I can understand them not pricing the service competitively. The main benefit of offering the service is it is then more likely t...

Re: My first Dumble - or another Tweedle Dee
Ah cool, are your Scottish shows sold out, should have said I would have come through to Edinburgh. The Classic Lead speaker defo needs break in time, but not with that amp, it just did not work, if the cab was a couple inches deeper I may have been able to live with it for a bit longer to see what ...

Re: My first Dumble - or another Tweedle Dee
So got this amp finished up, head build with a tweed combo sized speaker cabinet, I fitted a Celestion classic lead 80 and did not like it, too boxy and no top sparkle at all, the vintage 30 in my other 1 x 12 sounded much better. was surprised by the boxyness as this amp has loads of bass. Anyway I...

Re: fried my output transformer
if it failed and you were not playing you either had something wired up wrong on the primary side or the OT was faulty out of the box, it happens. When you are not playing there is almost no current on the secondary of the OT, just hiss and any hum, so a miss-wiring there would do nothing on initial...

Re: Friedman Dirty Shirley thoughts.
I've repaired two dirty shirley amps in which the internal can caps were miswired. One of the anodes grounded, the other at HVDC, with a voltage divider built off it for a positive DC heater reference (but mistakenly wired to the cathode). Once wired correctly, both amps sounded VERY good, in my op...

The output is made in the EU, the Mains on this one was a Hammond as I had a few on the shelf needing used up.

Re: My first Dumble - or another Tweedle Dee
Thanks guys, was really pleased with how this turned out. I still need to work on getting the shellac finish really even in tone, but it is a work in progress. @Norybrook it is a lovely covering job, I made the cab and came up with the design but I will be honest to say I got Steve to cover it for m...

Re: My first Dumble - or another Tweedle Dee
Here is the head cabinet I built for this, stuck with the tweed heritage on this one, think I might try and get a darker brown panel for it if I can find the right material
