Re: Partsconnexion

Seems reasonable for a handful of resistors actually.

Angela, tubesandmore, hndme is just as bad if you only order a few bucks worth of stuff.

I almost never put in an order under 100 anymore.

Re: First ODS type build

How did you mount the plastic clips on your ceramic tektronix terminals to the chassis? I've been wanting to use some of those on a build but haven't figured out how to get them to stay put. Make sure you're using silver solder on those. -E There's a nylon post at the bottom of the strip and a nylo...

First ODS type build

So this amp started out life as a fender super showman...then it lived for a little bit as an ods modded amp done by a big time builder... then I got bitten by the building bug and stuck my hands all over it. I finally finally got all the parts in so I'm slowly tearing down my prototyping wiring and...

Re: "Paint By Numbers" Amp Building

I recently built my first amp a few months ago. I was in China visiting my parents and found an orange dual terror, cheapest amp I could find there. I didn't have any access to a drill, turret boards, terminal boards, or any of that stuff. I didn't even find a place that sold tube sockets for a few ...

Re: Let's talk resistors!

I've been trying whatever resistors I can get my hands on. I really like the vishay rn60/65s for general use. I'm using the irc gs3 that handmade sells in the build I'm currently working on. The vishay's at least are miles above the stuff that's commonly available. Cheap enough to be almost a no add...

Oh I duno. Do you have a link to the PEC supplier?

I was just creating a list of options. I'm not about to run out of claro's for a while.

whoops sorry just saw your link above.

I hadn't gotten to digikey's catalog yet. Only mouser and allied so far.

Digikey's next.

allied sells these pots by eti systems

http://www.alliedelec.com/search/produc ... KU=5220112

which are new production and readily available, i'm gonna switch over when my stock runs out of the nos stuff.

Re: Let's talk signal caps!

I like the wima's a lot. If you can still get some of the old polycarbonate boxes they are smaller and easier to work with. Auricaps are great for how much they cost. Saw a chance to do a little vintage spelunking this month though... just couldn't resist. [IMG:1024:680]http://i625.photobucket.com/a...
