Re: pcb soldering temp

Thank you, I was using it at about 650 and that seemed to be working OK. It still seemed to take a little long however. I'll try it at 700.

Re: pcb soldering temp

I am using 60/40 SnPb. The solder mask on these circuit boards doesn't leave enough room for a larger tip unfortunately. I don't really have much/any pcb experience, I'm assuming you cant heat the joint partially through the mask.

pcb soldering temp

OK, I just got a Weller WESD51. What do you guys set the temp at for soldering radial caps to a pcb board. I worry about overheating the caps during soldering, especially to a large ground buss that pulls the heat away from the solder pad. To low a temp and you have to heat the part to long, to high...

Just happen to have a Matchless Nighthawk Reverb on the bench. This is how they did the tone selector switch.

Re: fender reverb feedback

Thank you for your suggestions everyone. I tried the 220K/220K divider you recommended and it did remove some squeal at high reverb settings, but the feedback was still there. I added some padding around the tank before sliding it back into the bag and that fixed it. I remember wrapping thick paper ...

fender reverb feedback

I built an amp for a friend that is basically a Fender Deluxe circuit in a Princeton combo cab, using some leftover Tone Slut TW style transformers. It has really proven to be an awesome amp in a small package (6l6's and a 12 inch Celestion). It worked great for about a year then developed a problem...

Re: noise from reverb tank in amplifier head

Try rotating the tank left to right. You want the return jack farthest away from the power transformer.

Re: 4- 6V6 output tranny

I used a 50 watt Bassman style (4K primary) in my last 4 X 6V6 build.
It sounded really good.
