Re: Sozo shipping gone beserk?
Yeah its hard to get stuff across sometimes. I avoid guys who have little exp with this stuff, guitars and amps that is, cos they quote over the top pricing. Aus does have stupid import sizes that feck us up, stupid length rules. On top of that anything over a grand gets hit with tariffs. But ive ha...

Re: Elevating heater via 100K resistors...
Thanks Martin, i was thinking of getting that voltage up further. Im running around 450V i think with this PT and GZ34 from memory, used the pT prior to this build. Might be a little high for this amp so will tune it as i go. Was looking at maybe 60-80V a a reference, more concerned with grounding a...

Re: Elevating heater via 100K resistors...
Im in the midst of a JTM50 build and am looking at elevating the heaters. Im using separate filters on all stages, all 32uf. With the screen cap im using a dual 32uf can, one side unused. COuld i place this divider across the can from the screen node side? Looking at Andys pic here, if i dropped a 1...

Re: Anyone doing Larry heater CT at input grounding?
Killer looking build TM, real nice. I scored a mojo smallbox and a chassis recently thru a buddy. I had a jtm PT and a merc plexi OT on the shelf, everything else in the drawers too, so i figured a JTM50 was on the cards. Kinda worked my own board layout, PS caps and droppers at each cathode, and us...

5Y3 vs EZ81
Is there much in these two recs apart from heater voltages?
Im getting my parts together for my AC10 which uses a EZ81. I did my AC15/zwreck half power using a 5Y3 and love the results.
BUT i really really dig on the AC10 vibe and dont wanna mess with it too much.

Re: What does cermet taste like?
Yeah Cliff, youre right i now itll be a noisy bugger. And i know once its dialed i. thats where it will stay. I am curious tho to hear what the variations are. After all that divider is basically a 100k pot, whos to say those values are perfection? Certainly with my buddies amp, its a little off the...

What does cermet taste like?
Having a thought regards an adjustable split load plate resistance, using a pot. Just did an express with the fast grad switching and its great! Better in fact than on my concorde! Also have a buddy doing a 6V6 express and he played mine and loved grad mode. Just thinking that if i had a 47k fixed R...
