Re: Fender HRD Conversion to 2nd Generation (Hybrid)

"A tad on the bright side" will probably sound a lot better if you can get the plate voltage down in the 350-400 range. Aaron - thank-you for the information. Any idea why the phase inverter input would be so sensitive? Getting signal bleed even with the OD relay removed. Have also "chopsticked" to...

Re: Fender HRD Conversion to 2nd Generation

This amp sounds really good when cranked up (as others have noted); albeit, a tad on the bright side What's your plate voltage? Re: Fender HRD Conversion to 2nd Generation

Completed this build awhile back, but did not post a completed gut shot. Also, the signal level into the phase inverter seems way too hot - any idea how to address this without affecting the overall tone? This amp sounds really good when cranked up (as others have noted); albeit, a tad on the bright...

Re: Add-on tank reverb and loop

Built a version similar to the original, but in a little larger box (8"x6").
The larger size box was used to accommodate the addition of the output level pot that is found in the Dumbleator.
Reverb tank used is a 4AB3C1B.

Looks like a Ceriatone kit with a modified front panel and a digital reverb pedal crammed in to the chassis.

Re: Yet another Dumble type amp being marketed

From https://sono-tone.com/product/smart-belle-p51/

"Together the three have taken the 70’s D tone to a new level.
The amplifier features a 4 6L6 power section for incredible headroom,
however the re-engineered master volume allows world class tone at bedroom levels."

Re: new build choice, 2nd gen 50w

It wasn’t a glue mishap, it was part of your proprietary “relic-ing” process! Add some cigarette burns, abuse the grill cloth with an ice pick, replace one knob with a random, chipped one from a fuzz box, put some naval jelly on the corners and handle screw covers to take the shine off them. See if...

Re: Solder Not Adhering to Eyelets

You know how water "wets" some surfaces, not others? Water rolls off a freshly waxed car, but clings in a continuous sheet to a car that's got oxidized, dull paint. Same with solder. The electrochemical nature of molten solder is such that it will "wet" some surfaces and not others. The process of ...

Solder Not Adhering to Eyelets

I've encountered a number of eyelets, in a batch of 500, where solder just flows through them and does not stick. Applying flux did not help. Any ideas?
