Re: Schematic for oddball Sano amp
Where would you guys start in diagnosing the reverb? The schematic posted above for the 500R appears is correct. I can post pics of the guts but it’s point-to-point so it looks like a rats nest.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Schematic for oddball Sano amp
The reverb tank tests good but there’s no reverb, not sure what happened because it was working and now all of a sudden it’s not.

Re: Schematic for oddball Sano amp
That looks very close, thank you so much! I can’t find anything better than that on the web.
There is a page that supposedly has it but you have to send $20 via PayPal, not sure how I feel about that.
I really appreciate the help guys you guys are a gold mine.

Schematic for oddball Sano amp
Hello all, I just received an eccentric Sano tube amp for repair, appears to be a stereo accordion amp with reverb and tremolo, with a single 15” and a pair of 8” speakers. Needs filter caps and updated power cord. The rectifier is a 5U4 and the amp has two 60/20/20/20uF cap cans but I cannot find a...

Re: PT for a 5E3 Deluxe
Great info, thank you. Yeah I knew there was several types of orange drops and I should have specified but since I had mentioned having a Mojotone kit you nailed it with regard to which ones I have here on hand. And Sluckey, I’ll look into those. You’re talking about the vintage yellow Astrons? Are ...

Re: PT for a 5E3 Deluxe
Well I’m finally beginning this build. Any opinions on Orange Drops versus something like Sozos or Jupiter capacitors? I’m still going to initially build it with the orange drops that come with the Mojotone small parts kit I have here but I already feel like upgrading to something more “authentic”.

Re: Bassman Ten in for service
https://i.imgur.com/bqWem2O.jpg Got it fired up slowly using a variac with a light bulb current limiter. Unloaded B+ voltage is 501v and I have -45v on both pins 5 of the power tube sockets. With tubes in I get 417v on the power tube plates with 25.5 mA of current draw, everything stable over a 10 ...

Re: Bassman Ten in for service
The fuse in the amp is a 3A, back panel calls for a 2.5 Amp. I have not powered it up yet but will soon.

Re: Bassman Ten in for service
This is great information, I appreciate it. It also turns out that Bantam Bass schematic posted above is s much better match for the Bassman Ten. In fact the main difference really is the rectifier section which unfortunately is the section I need the most LOL. But this is great because with that sc...

Re: Bassman Ten in for service
The layout posted doesn’t exactly match, though I cannot find any other model of Bassman Ten it could be. It still helps but I will proceed carefully.

Re: Bassman Ten in for service
Thanks, that layout should be a lot of help.
Are there variations of this circuit besides the later ultra-linear models?
Thanks.
