Re: Rocket / Liverpool EU power transformer advice
Hi Vladivado the PTs I have have ample current on them, they don’t get hot that I know. I tried a 5u4 in my Rocket and it seems to add even more bass to a very bassy circuit, and I have a gz34 in it now. Each rectifier type will drop different values of voltage. They are great amps, good luck with t...

Re: Rocket / Liverpool EU power transformer advice
Hi. If the tranny people build in overhead. They might do. You need 4.03A for 4 power tubes and 3 pre amp tubes. For the heaters https://thesubjectmatter.com/calcptcurrent.html Or use a calculator you like. I have a dual tap PT for my Rocket sound better on the 280 tap than the 250 tap. I also have ...

Re: TWELVE YEARS of Monkeymatic amps
yeah I'm glad to see your builds over the years, and you've also helped me along the way. its funny when you post a new creation, I've always been kinda jealous. I would build something and say "yes that's good enough" where as you build the something you go that extra effort and make yours a reflec...

Re: New Express Build
I think you have your bias resistors wrong? You also have a 1.5 k resistor? Was that what you needed? Usually a 15 k resistor goes between the caps where you have the 47k. where you have the 1.5k you would implement the 47k resistor at the trimmer. Are those bias caps grounded? I can’t see it. All o...

Re: EDCOR OT & PT Anyone have Try ?
Sorry I might not have been very clear, the 35 watt Edcor OT I have I bought off RJ and it’s not a UL OT. I also have Edcor15 watt PT and matching OT that I have on a Supro build and it sounds awesome. The only thing weird about Edcor is they label their trannies on the bottom, so take a picture bef...

Is that UL output transformer?
I have an Edcor 35 watt 5k OT - EM0807 in my Liverpool build. It sounds fine to me
Good luck

Re: Vibro Champ Amp Modification
I would do what your kid says and just do a cap job. After all your mom bought you that and it’s a great keep sake. Make it workable.. and play with something else to build or mess with. I just made a vibro champ in a 1940 Philco radio. I shouldn’t have messed with the radio but this one was a baske...

Re: NGD: Carvin #4!
Thats Awesome Aaron.... those stuffies look like they want to play it. My son just bought a Charvel that kinda looks like that Carvin and has a similar pickup set up like yours. He leaves it here while he works up North in Churchill for 3 week stints, and I'm glad when he goes up there so I can play...

Re: Express volume pot NOISE
Hey Davewell. It’s like Colossal says, it’s probably the silver mica cap in the tone stack letting DC in to the volume pot.
It’s happened to a lot of us..
show us some pictures of your build cause we like that
