Re: Fender Pro Reverb UltraLinear (70w)

Can you post some PI plate voltages? A common problem in fender amps is having a bad PI plate resistor.

Re: Fender Pro Reverb UltraLinear (70w)

Looks like the striped green and solid green are reversed compared to the original and amp you have on the jack and board connections.
Have you tried changing those so its like the original pic?

Re: Purchased completely gone-through '72 Traynor YBA-1 - DOA

You think it's seriously fair to charge 70 bucks to wire this simple thing? I've literally prepped the thing, built the new control panel, can supply plenty of awesome 70s CTS pots and jacks. 70 bucks is out of control for these simple two volume controls. I'd rather never play bass again than pay ...

Re: Purchased completely gone-through '72 Traynor YBA-1 - DOA

Depends on what the miswire is or how it effects things, or if it works as in makes sound or not etc.. There were many "versions" of this amp. Circuit changes or upgrades, revision or whatever label you want to call them. And I believe your amp circuit is this one that matches having that 3.3m resis...

CherryFive
But I doubt a miswire!
Sometimes I wonder why I bother posting. The pic I posted previously shows exactly one spot it is miswired. Mostly I was trying to help,by pointing that out. Maybe when the amp is fixed, post the pics of it after to compare it to.

The good thing is, it should be an easy fix. And that the seller is going to work with you. :D

Re: New Express build

What's the deal with the "flying" components off the V1 pins? Are those extra caps required for the VVR? Those caps are heavy, and any vibration of the chassis (like, moving it from place to place) will slowly weaken those leads. Here is a first-time start-up guide that walks you through safely fir...

Re: Purchased completely gone-through '72 Traynor YBA-1 - DOA

the link on the cap is cedist, not just radios. And Cedist is tubesand more,or Antique electronics that sell parts of all kinds and type to most amp builders. As far as Just Radios, they sell similar items as Cedist and mojo and others. Just Radios has one type caps made for them, and the correct va...

Re: Purchased completely gone-through '72 Traynor YBA-1 - DOA

I think ,one thing when almost rebuilding an amp, some times a small miswire can happen. Maybe my eyes are getting weak, so maybe someone else verify it. as you can bring up a schematic. and i'll also show another pic to compare of another traynor, but in the pic 268. The wire that jumps across the b...

Re: 18 watt clone build Hum question

I think like some suggest, i'd first try to narrow it down to what section the hum is coming from. V2 in this layout is the PI. So if you remove V1 and V3 you still hear the hum? if so, then its going to be in the PI or power section. And also tubes are the first thing to change, so you make sure yo...
