Re: Wreck Junior.
Thanks Allynmey. I couldn't see that in your photo.
Stephane. Thanks for your help and the links. Looks real interesting, when I get more time I'll be sure and have a more detailed look at your 'site.

Re: Wreck Junior.
Hey Allynmey, Where is the 820k resistor between the Volume pot and pin 3 of the 12bh7? I notice that it appears on the schematic, and the layout from the other thread, but I can't see it in your photo. Is it under the board? Did you leave it out? If so, why? Thanks for any help you see fit to give ...

Re: Wreck Junior.
That's sweet! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Did it require much tuning?
Will you post a schematic or layout for a sucker like me?

Re: The End of 18Watt.com
It's morning here now, first order of business when I roll into work is to quickly browse 18watt, it's usually interesting, however the attitudes have got a bit ugly there lately (see the power scaling - GM18 fiasco, and related arrogance), I hope that this isn't what shut it. To the Mods and Admin ...

Re: my first real amp build
That's great. I just noticed a switch on the back panel too, what's that? I entertained thoughts along those (ie. Test points, Bias pot) lines, but a little further reading (Trainwreck pages etc) led me to believe that this was really a set and forget sort of thing and shouldn't really require conti...

Re: my first real amp build
That's pretty cool for the second build fella. Nice work. What did you call her? I notice you ran the bias pot off over near the power valves.... no noise issues? Why not just put it on the back panel?

Re: EL84 rectifier amp
Beautiful work. I can't wait to hear clips, if they're forthcoming. I'm fixin' to audition a new brand of iron, and was gonna make a 5E3 sorta thing, but now I'm thinkin' maybe a Rocket-inspired 6V6 amp. A colleague of mine at work (sometimes it's great to be a nerd among nerds) just bought "severa...

I don't get "hatred", just dislike, or maybe an "unwillingness to have anything to to do with" the guy and his business.... this is an old thing and probably best left alone anyhow.

That SLO Forum can be found here: http://sloclone.yesterdaysrevolt.com/index.php
But I'd probably go with a Plexi myself.

Re: Confused
Others may choose to disagree with me, but I think a Soldano SLO clone, or a Marshall Plexi is probably the best option. Ceriatone doesn't offer an SLO kit, although they could probably put one together for you if you asked.... Nik is great like that. I don't know what the URL is, but there is also ...

Re: Confused
Had a listen to your son's stuff, it's great. Reminds me a little of myself ten years ago... The Express sounds fantastic, but doesn't seem to take pedals very well. I plan on building one soon, but maybe a 36 watt, or a Plexi or an SLO clone would suit your son's style a little better. Just a thoug...
