Re: Low End Missing with my Express
what tubes do you have in it? The amp can be fairly bright, but I guess they were built to cut through in band situations...IIRC the 75s are bright speakers...I used to own an Express clone and used it with G12Ms in a 2x12 and wasn't terribly bright...Heck I even had the 500pf cap on all the time....

Mayer sounded much bigger and fuller than BB. But a 4x12 tends to do that....Mayer had a good sound

Re: Great Strat tone but way overdriven LP tone....Express poll
I was always under the impression that the Express was meant to be a lead amp. I've seen some people being able to tame it with their pick attack and volume control using both LPs and Strats. But never the less I think using the right tool for the right job, IMHO, is the way to go. If you want less ...

Re: Updated Trainwreck Documents
Ginger was the very first TW built, I think I read. It has lots of differences- 3 switches instead of the normal Power and Standby, and who knows what else. Our notes were taken from other Liverpools, which were consistent among themselves.. I'm not saying that we're 100% perfect here, but it's bee...

Re: Where does sustain come from?
I am by no means an expert on Dumbles or any other amps for that matter. Now my take on this like it was mentioned at the begining of the thread and on that quote, two things one cranked pre-amp and the other PAB. They have to compress and that will give you sustain, this is after all a cascading am...
