Re: Standel S-80
Ian, Thanks for the link. Lots of similarities... Schematic attached. Not sure on pot values. The volume and accent pots are stamped FY8875 and the treble and bass pots are stamped FY8876. Measuring in circuit they appear to be 500K for the volume and accent and 1M for the treble and bass. Also not ...

Re: Standel S-80
No date codes on the transformers. PT is Stancor PC8411 OT is Stancor A-3801 Cap cans had date code of 6013 so I'm assuming it's 1960-61 No epoxy modules - tubes are 2 - 12ax7 1 - 6u8a 2 - 6dq6 1 - 0d3 1 - 5u4 I've replaced filter caps and rebuilt the bias supply and all is working as expected inclu...

Standel S-80
I have a very clean (inside - ugly on the outside) Standel S-80 head. No matching cab. Has all original tubes. Tubes light up but filter caps are bad. No schematic to be found anywhere. Have started tracing it out. Any experience with these? Are they cool? Worth anything? A non-working "for parts" o...

Re: Faceplate price increases at Mojotone
Just received my order from Sandy at Precision Design. First contacted her last Sunday. Order was done and shipped on Monday. Received on Friday.
Much faster turn around then I expected. Better pricing than I expected and the quality is fantastic. Highly recommended.

Re: Faceplate price increases at Mojotone
I used to use Joe at Amplates.com but he's no longer doing them. Joe wasn't cheap but his design service was AWESOME!! I just did a small order with Sandy at Precision Design to test the waters. VERY reasonable pricing and super fast turn around. Haven't received them yet (shipping today) but I'll p...

Re: Montgomery Ward 35JDR8421
Thanks, will let the owner know. For now, amp is up and running. Went with 100R for the 6v6 screens. Left the 75R/39R bias resistor in place and get ~7vdc across the 12ax7 filaments. Shorted the added 75R and get 12vdc. I'm guessing whoever worked on it before didn't realize the 12ax7 filaments are ...

Re: Montgomery Ward 35JDR8421
Bumping an old thread since I have one of these on my bench. Interesting amp, very similar to the Danelectro Commando http://www.blueguitar.org/new/schem/misc_amp/dano_commando.gif The vibrato uses a 12sj7 instead of the 6au6 in the Commando Schematic. I've worked on a Commando before that matched t...

Ordered a bunch from West Florida Components. Great prices and super fast shipping. Did a Mouser order at the same time and they both showed up today.
Thanks for the tip!

Re: Rectangle panel hole punch set
$400  That reminds me why I've never caved and bought one. Just found this... https://www.alliedelec.com/rs-pro-543614/70791065/?mkwid=sHD5l2E7O&pcrid=196916138865&pkw=&pmt=&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIiM6JkfrM3QIVBNtkCh2hPgpMEAQYAyABEgJjKfD_BwE Need to measure the IEC plugs I have but looks like it'll...

Re: Rectangle panel hole punch set
Mark,
Care to share the source/price? I've considered getting one for IEC holes a few times but lost interest after seeing prices. I don't build a lot but every time I start cutting an IEC hole I wish I'd spent the $$

Ceramic Cap Source
I swear I've seen a recent thread about this same topic but can't find it...
My supply of 1KV ceramic disk caps is fading. Would like to stock up. What are you guys using and where are you getting them?
Looking for caps in the 47pf to 680pf range.
Thanks!
