July Premier Guitar Mag had an article by R.G. Keen noting using IN4007 for up to 450V which is rated at 1000V and 1 amp.

Use St Semi Conductor STTH112U rated at 1A and 1200V from Mouser Electronics for 450V to 550V B+ voltage.
