I'm suspecting you used different transformers for whatever tube set you were driving. But how about the PI values did you adjust them as well?
Thanks...

Sort of. I read they, Vox, tried an AC30 with El34's as a starting point.
The Rockster is setup a liitle different. In fact mine has KT66 tubes so mine is a top boost with a bluesbreaker kinda sound.
rp, want both channels to mix and match as needed.

Re: Vox AC50 build
Thanks Dave! If it comes out as good as the 6V6 Plexi you helped me with it will be awesome. Going for single input with this one too. But each channel will have it's own tone stack unlike the Plexi. But with separate volumes I should be able to mix them nicely. Also with 12AU7 first stage should ha...

Vox AC50 build
Guys I'm starting an AC50 build using the MkIII preamp with a 12AU7 and separate vol, treble and bass for the normal and brilliant channels and the Mk I PI and power tube circuit. So SS recto and LTP driver. I had some parts around and decided to try them together. An express chassis which I punched...

Reverb and an effects loop don't change the basic great circuit I think. Adding more flavour to a great "recipe" if you will...

Looks awesome! Great color with that gold plexi front.

Thanks...

Alright!
Another satisfied "Fowler Rocket" build. From Vox, thru Ken, and then Mark. A great amp, we can all agree.

Re: Plexi bias
Rockin
I measured the OT voltage at the tube socket. I knew the EL34 was a 25 water from tube data. I have a 1 ohm 1% resistor that I monitor for setting the bias.
I was lucky my bias supply will do both 6V6 and EL34's no problem.

Re: Rocket Combo
Few pics of the Rocket build. Blank chassis, holes punched and drilled, xformers, circus board and such.... Dave, thanks man the Rocket is such an unassuming little amp until you open her up!! And mines a 2 EL84 version...WOW! Jazz, oh yeah gotta go for the purple coil cord! You'll be surprised how ...

Plexi bias
Guys So my 6V6 Plexi is my first fixed bias build. I tried EL34's in it and want to be sure I set the bias correctly. EL34 25W/420V (plate voltage) = .059mA .059mA x .7 (70%) = .041mA. So setting my bias pot to read .041mA(mV) across my 1 ohm resistor gives me the right bias for the tube...yes? Than...

Re: Rocket Combo
Rp I got my 2 EL84 layout for the Rocket from a nice one that Mark had done. Gotta give credit where credit is due. The cord is from Lava Cable Reto Cord series, not cheap and works great. Mark Oh Yeah that little Rocket is the first thing I grab when I wanna play. Built 3 other amps but that Rocket...
