Re: 15W DC30/Rocket Type Amp
No doubt Chris, one very fine looking build. Your execution beats the hell out of anything the folks at TR are happy to charge $5K for! I'll go so far as to say much more creative mods too. 8) Is the chassis Aluminum? Do you have a brake to make your own? Nice job all around. I hope we see more good...

Re: Welagen ODS with PCBs
Really top notch stuff Jelle! Your amps always look so thoughtfully laid out. Where the TR products still resemble a hastily lashed together science project. I've built a Wah Wah and some Fuzz pedal circuits on the 2" X 3" Formica samples you get from Home Depot. That stuff looks cool as circu...

Re: Aluminum choke sub
No sir, none at all. It's probably the better choice as the cement puppies tend to warm up and stay that way. I was going to use a 50 watter I had [it's still smaller than a cement one @ 25W  ] but I ended up using as many Kenny correct bits as I could find. I believe Ken would use the superio...

You might get this done for free...
Chris M, I had a powder coater by my shop that would let me put FX pedal boxes in with whatever job he was doing the day I asked. That limited my choice of colors but it was freakin' free! (I had actually contracted their services a few times to paint 24'-0" stock lengths of aluminum for contract gl...

+100^Cliff's method! I saw my friend doing this to a PCB and it was loaded with parts. Pretty soon he's getting relatively clean parts falling off the board with every whack. The holes were actually cleared and he saved about 75% of the labor to do it meticulously with the suxzittup. I was sol...

Two 400W 8-6550 amps, dimed into two 4 x JBL E130 cabinets is a very artistic lethal weapon when experienced at less than ten feet from the speakers, particularly with a nice old Les Paul with 7-8K PAFs!. Especially effective on politicians and blowhards of all stripes. +1^ Yes, a fine choice of we...

I can't fathom how this crap it profitable! All that work to disguise a shitty little radial cap can't yield much profit until you start selling train loads. Right? They've started making feke Microtech OTF knives, chicken eggs, rare xistors, etc.. Hell yeah there are plenty of more items entering o...

Thanks man! I didn't take into account the more likely voltages this part of
the circuit sees. I appreciate the turretboards.com linky!

Re: Xpress 500p Treble Tone Cap
Gary,
What are the part numbers for the WIMA caps you had success with?
In their MKP (polypropylene) series at 400v~630v ranges I can't seem to find any within the pF capacitances.
I only looked at the Mouser Bros..

Great looking scoot Skyboltone! I too like the hue. My brother had an RD 350 so I bought the Kawi three lunger KZ 400. The Yami was the hands down superior bike! But for a while I could stay ahead of the RD. I think the gearing and power band was what made that possible. They say those windshields w...

'Sploded. 'Sploded real good!
I've heard that the ensuing hork of dielectric goo that coats everything will begin to destroy the other components it's splashed on. Does anyone have confirming info in that regard? I had a little 'lytic blow in a pedal [flipped polarities] and that shit managed to get practically everywhere. I was...

Sweetassedmofo lookin' build. Niceness Tonemerc! Is that a Selenium diode in the bias circuit? How in hell did you source half that stuff? Diligence I'm sure. If you want to build the old style head eventually, I sourced the correct rail from an old carpet installer's boneyard of metal trim in the U...
