Re: What's been your best antique, thrift, pawn find this year?
At my Uni they were cleaning basements, everything was supposed to be recycled, thankfully I knew who to talk with and ... I got 2 boxes full of tubes, some NOS, some used - EL84/86, ECL82/86, EZ80/81, ECC81/82/83/88, ELL80, EF86 and other ... more than 100 tubes.

Re: Minimum wage
When people (most of them) achieve some level of earnings (for instance, they've got few millions in a bank), they stop treating money as an element that allows them to survive. They start looking for new challanges, they're not willing to earn more money just to have them in wallet but to fulfill s...

Re: Guitar strings? Brand and Gauge
Ernie Ball 11-54 on my Tele, I like the feel of fat low E. Before, I used Fender Bulltes 10-52 - imho great string, kind of pain that Fender does not make them in 11-54 size... .

Re: So Boston huh?
How to wear can be some time a tough thing, all in all, it's always better to be clothed too officially than too casual. It is good to be prepared for different situations, i would go for nice shirt and a tie in briefcase - you can always put it on in 30 sec in the toilet. I remember when I had a sp...

Re: Two clean channels in one amp
Schematic shown below would be my major inspiration, the presence circuit has an error which should be corrected. This is in my opinion one of the best clean amps I've ever played, additionaly, I would add parallel second clean, maybe 6SL7 like in old fender amps, I'm not sure...grid-leak is interes...

Re: Two clean channels in one amp
I've got already amp with 2x6L6GC clean with some D influence + reverb, great sounding but when you turn it over 12, in a apartment - unusable...I need bedroom amp with recording output, thinking about 2xECL82 (6BM8). Whole amp on PCB.

Re: Two clean channels in one amp
Idea is quite simple, I really enjoy playing clean channel, more than overdriven channel. 2 differently voiced channels could be used as 'normal' tone and 'solo'. With two separate inputs, I could also put a booster/drive in front of one channel and get this nice breaking tone or switch back to seco...
