That would be John Calhoun and his website is here: http://web.mac.com/calhoun/PCB/Firefly_PCB.html

He has a nice PDF build guide on there as well.

Re: Too old for concerts? (rant)

Probably the best sounding concert for me was Pink Floyd during the Animals tour. I was right in front of the stage (festival seating). kec, I'm envious, Animals is one of my favorite albums. Great songs and guitar tones especially. I never get tired of it. I'll bet that was a great show. I saw Flo...

Re: On the Texas Gulf Coast!

I'm just south of Houston and about 30 miles due west of Galveston Bay. We won't be seeing any problems from storm surge flooding, but it could get real interesting here depending on where Ike decides to make landfall. We're not going anywhere and have been making preparations the last couple of day...

But I think you're looking at the powertube grid resistors (R14/15). They are both 82k. The 82k/100k's are lower, in between them.
Oops! You're right. Sorry about that.

Re: 4-4-0 [2 NEW BUILDS WITH PICS; THE 2 WATT WRECK]

The schematic shows 5K6. Personally, I like it higher than that as I put a NFB pot on mine. Anything from 5K6 to 25k works fine. Brian Ok thanks for clarifying that! So that is actually meant to be 5k6. Sorry, didn't know if that was a typo or the legit value! One other question: You mention...

Re: 4-4-0 [2 NEW BUILDS WITH PICS; THE 2 WATT WRECK]

I've been following this thread with great interest. Nice work Cliff and Gainmaster. arjepsen: Your layout is looking very nice. I noticed however that you have the 82k/100k (R22 & R23) plate resistors on the PI labeled as 82k/82k, so one of them should be changed to 100k. Cliff/Gainmaster...

Re: Bluetone Express Baby ready

Another fine looking amp Harry! Great work. I too added a PPIMV and a VVR (whole amp is regulated) to my new plexi amp and I love the level of control. Presently, I mostly leave the PPIMV cranked but it is nice to have the option to back it off if so desired to change the tone a bit.

Re: C9 orientation in the express.

I'm wondering why the C9 capacitor in the Express is oriented the way it is. At first glance, I'm thinking it would be easier to turn it 90 degrees, so it goes straight to R10, without the extra wire. But I guess KF had a reason to put it exactly like he did instead. Can anyone tell me why?? In stu...

Jochen, Your build looks incredible!! Great work! I have saved your PDF as a reference and for inspiration. Can you please tell me how you get your heater wiring to look that way? I use a drill to twist the wires but how do you make the runs down to the tube from the "main lead" appear to just come ...

Harry, the switch will feel lonely in your parts box without a mod to call home   Maybe you can use it for a 3-way bright switch (100/250/500pf)?

Re: Single-Parallel-Single switch to amp input

I ended up skipping it and using one input jack, I jumpered the Bright and Dark channels permanently, and just went with the cascade switch instead. Would there be any difference between a channel select switch and just turning the volume down for each channel? Just for fun I built this amp : http:...

Re: Logo to stick onto the front of my maple cab

I would like to have a 3D type (not too thick) logo made saying "The Vortex" or "Vortex" for my liverpool's new head case that is almost done. After I design it, where are some places I can send it to to have the placard/logo made? Also, are the logos usually peel off adhesive? i want to stick it i...

HeeBGB, Thanks a lot for posting these tracks and the supporting information! I'm really interested in building an Express but appreciate getting to hear other examples of KF's amps. I haven't worked my way through all of them yet, but was inspired to comment. On In the House, the intro arpeggiated ...
