Re: Wreck Junior.

Hey fella's sorry to kick a dead horse.... got a little question relating to this amp Allyn. I've got a line on a Hammond AO-44-3 reverb amp. It uses two ECL86's, but I can't find a schematic and the seller doesn't know if it's SE or PP.... do you? Do you think the iron would be suitable for an amp ...

Fender Super 60 to DType.

Hey all. I've just posted this at the BrownNote forum too. I have a Fender Super 60 (2*6L6 and 4*12a_7) that I would like to use as the basis for a Dumble clone.... do any of you have any advice regarding the Iron's suitability for this purpose, or any other advice re start points, suitable circuits...

Re: New Trainwreck Inspired 2 channel amp

Oh Dana. That's a lovely bit of work..... next time I hear a drummer joke in the rehearsal room I'll be keeping my mouth shut, or perhaps holding you up as a contrary (albeit rare) example. :D

Re: Faceplates

Might also be worth checking in with S2amps. He has a sideline in modded Juniors, and sends them back with new faceplates. He might sell one for less than it will cost to get one made....

Re: New Trainwreck Inspired 2 channel amp

Yes. You are quite right. And his Barwatt amps (Barry's Marwatt) are if not the talk of the town, at least very nice. I've played through one anyway...

Re: New Trainwreck Inspired 2 channel amp

  Mark Abbott would probably have something to say about what address I sent to in Aussey land. I don't know him personally.... Sydney is about a thousand kilometres from Melbourne... but I think he could make his own. I however have never built a 'Wreck, and find the idea a little daunti...

Re: New Trainwreck Inspired 2 channel amp

Hey Dana. Wanna fit a 240V trannie and send it to me? I'll look after her real good...

But seriously. Has this amp been built to order? Do you think you'll sell it?

Would you be kind enough to post a BOM when you post the schemo and layout?

Love your work, thanks for sharing.

Re: Asteroid Layout

I notice an "Asteroid" is in the 'For Sale or Trade' area, with a link to some very good clear pictures. Might be the sort of thing we want to archive? I know I have already!

Re: Traynor 'Iron'; any good for D-Clone builds?

You haven't really supplied enough information to say for sure. But with a little bit of manipulation of the power supply and rectification, it should work for a Dtype with that same or very similar tube complement. Maybe you could change some component values in the existing build to make something...

Re: Why is there a radial cap on my ac plug?

I'm in Melbourne and use 260V (get 255V if you can) cause my home mains is between 238 - 252v measured twice a day over a week.
