I had a similar problem once "weird artifacts upon initial attack" and it had to do with the Phase Inverter. One of the pins on the PI tube (12ax7) was damaged. It was pin 6.
You might have checked already but just thought I would let you know.

Re: Yet another Small Special started
Finally got around to finishing my ODS #124 with 2 tube reverb ! The results are fantastic! Below is a layout of the reverb I used. This was done with a 3 spring short tank . The reverb was inserted after the master volume and after the effects loop just before PI. The reverb I get is a beautiful ha...

Re: Yet another Small Special started
I attached a schematic for a fender Super Reverb amp ( 2x 6L6 amp).
It shows the reverb driver tube running at 450 volts and the recovery tube running at 410 volts! You will see it in the bottom left hand corner of the diagram where it says "reverb unit".

Re: Yet another Small Special started
I am building my 2x6L6 ODS 124 with 2 tubes for reverb and short tank like yours "lord preset" . I am placing it right before the LTPI ( after Master Vol)
12at7 to drive and half 12ax7 to recover and a bypass switch to eliminate reverb circuit. I will post the results in about 1 week.
Cheers

Re: Yet another Small Special started
If this 2M pot yields better results for you I will order one as well. Thanks for updating on your progress. I wanted to share this website's info on a 2 tube reverb circuit that looks very interesting and may produce more reverb than a single tube system. http://www.tdpri.com/forum/shock-brothers-d...

Re: Yet another Small Special started
Cabinet looks great! I love Pine nice and light and smells great! I like that one tube reverb layout. I will use a similar one for my ODS #124, especially since I only have room for one more tube on a 16 in long chassis! I will use this tank for my build. https://www.tubedepot.com/products/accutroni...

Re: Yet another Small Special started
Nice build. I am curious to see what reverb circuit you use and how it will sound.
I am in the process of building a ODS #124 myself and might want to add reverb as well.
Here is my post.

Overdrive #124 in 16x8x3in Chassis
Started a Overdrive Special # 124 build. She will run 2 x 6L6. I am using a Hammond powder coated chassis for this. I looked around and saw how nice these look with the black chassis and I was so tempted to do one. I used pine to build the Head cab. Just wondering what type of wood a lot of other pe...

Re: Relay for D'lite 22/33
Yes the pre amp tubes are low. I will increase them to 22uf each ( up from the 10uf each). That will put me at 120uf total. I tried increasing the plates but it sounded too stiff when I did that. When I increase the screens it does not sound stiff its just increasing the plates that make it sound st...

Re: Relay for D'lite 22/33
I was asked to post a guy shot of my amp. I attached a few photos. She is not the neatest but she sure sounds great! It was also hard to get so much into a 16x8 chassis! The big Blue filter caps and 3 small black ones give me 90uf . 60 uf for power tubes and 30 uf for preamp tubes. The big white res...

More Rock n Roll sounding overdrive and cleans!
I made 2 adjustments on my d'lite clone that really changed the sound to my liking and just wanted to let everyone know! I turned down my overdrive trim pot from about 100k to 45k and I removed the LNFB on V1b. WOW the cleans and the overdrive became much more hard rock sounding! I think this will b...

Follow up on relay for D'lite build
Just wanted to let everyone now that I got the relay working fine for PAB and OD. Its running off the 5 volt lines from my power transformer and the LEDs are working too! Thank you angelodp for emailing me your hook up diagram. I used a 2 button Marshall type footswitch. The cleans are amazing on th...

Re: Relay for D'lite 22/33
Yes your right! I have decided on doing both relays. OD and PAB.
Its make more sense. I think I will order from Granger.
I will use a stereo switcraft jack and 2 button marshall pedal with LED.
