Re: Transformer Wires - Cut to Length?
I try to leave enough lead that I can cut them once more if needed and strip /re solder them. If you leave them too long then it doesn't look good. But when you have to fix them you may wish you had left some service lead. This is just my approach and is not necessarily the correct way to do it.

I'm with UR12 and Richie. There are plenty of other places to get parts. Also another vote here for Nik @ Ceriatone.

Re: New pics of an as-yet-undocumented 1990 Trainwreck Express!
Hi Andy. Thanks for sharing. This one is very interesting to see. Seems there are quite a few differences when comparing to the Francesca pics. I noticed the grid stopper on the second stage. I wonder if that was also added afterwards to help cure the oscillation.

Re: Express Build and Clip
Thanks rj. Yeah the guitar is a solid body. I believe the amp was around the 1:00 or 2:00 position on that clip. It will get a bit more gain if I crank it further. It seems from 11:00 to 2:00 is the sweet spot. Tubes make a big difference in these amps. Try different combinations and NOS if possible...

Try setting a nice piece of foam rubber under the head cab.

Re: Express Clone Completed
Nice Build- Congrats! Have you tried chop sticking the amp. You may be able to solve the problem by moving the position of your wires. The 2nd stage grid wire is very sensitive. Is it run close to the chassis or did you use shielded wire here? Can you post a pic.

Thanks Mat. I'm real happy with it. I just need to get setup with a few more tools so I can do some nice joints.

Re: Express Build and Clip
Thought I would post some pics of my cab. I put this together over the holidays. I used Red Oak with a Tung oil finish.
