Re: PIC Programming?

I'm relearning C++ for the umpteenth time but this time I plan on making it stick. I've been able to read C/C++ code for years but when it comes time to write it, it's been like pulling teeth in the past because I put up this front of "oh I can't program and will never be able to". I've had to ditch...

Re: PT Snubber

OH...OK. Thanks. Round numbers...if my DMM measures 700 VAC across the secondary. Would I need a cap with a V rating of 700 x 1.4= 980V .? (I guess that is why Marshall use 2x 630V cap in series.?) Thank You If you are measuring voltages that high with your multimeter, make double sure that the pea...

Re: best brand Super reverb output transformer for SRV tone?....

I can't really understand why everybody wants the SRV tone. That tone is very specific, well-known and overdone. It completely pigeon holes the player IMO. Whenever I hear KWS or Chris Duarte, I want to throw up. Poor Stevie must be doing summersaults in his grave. It's like a guy with a short dick...

I'd love to meet you Billy! Lefty and myself are in Seattle so maybe we can roadtrip out to Spokane one Saturday to meet up. Have had nothing but extremely positive experiences meeting TAG members so far :).

Re: For TAG and Tag, my favorite Politician.

This just sent me on a 30 minute search for a song that I can't find. It's a Youtube clip I think myself or someone else posted a good while back. It's Rory on his Telecaster, probably in the very late 80's or early 90's (once he had gained some weight), and it starts of with him hitting an insanely...

Re: Top Hat Club Royale gut shots posted

I don't quite get why everyone thinks solid core wire will break when you do sharp bends? How is it going to lead to failure? Is it not the same as sharply bending a resistor lead? I really doubt they have ever had any problems with their wires breaking. I don't bend component leads in a hard right...

Re: Top Hat Club Royale gut shots posted

As much as I am a fan of a neat layout, I do not care for the excessively sharp bends in solid core hookup wire. It may look cute, but it will lead to failures in the long run - not recommended. I did notice that on the yellow wire, the insulation looks crushed where the bend was made. If the bend ...

Re: who's had enough of Gerry ?

I never voted but I didn't think it was necessary to kick him out/off. He was at least articulate and apologetic when he came off as insulting. His intentions became clear eventually but those still interested in helping were doing so. Ultimately it's up to the admins what happens around here so the...

Now that's the kind of build quality I want to see when someone is charging good money for their work. Looks like they really took their time with the layout and actual building.

Re: Fender 5e3p from Wurlitzer organ amp

Question: are most OTs and PTs wires similarly color coded? I noticed more than a few common colored wires between my amp and the layout for the 5e3p design I'm using, and I can find the rest at the pins they're connected to. I'm just looking for the basic points and what they do. I'm sure I'll fig...

Re: Premier 90 Reverb Clone HUM

Typically these tube reverbs have a ground loop formed between the reverb unit, the amp and the wall socket. You get a common ground through the guitars ground but also through the wall socket, hence the large ground loop. You can break the ground loop at either place but for safety you really shoul...
