Re: Faceplate for amp
I may ask on the next one, but I make simple plates. If I ever do something fancy, I may go with that. Here's the latest one I got from Indcom....

Re: Faceplate for amp
The aluminum was from Front Panel Express and one other place I can't remember ATM. Indcom has only provided me plastic.

Re: Custom Chassis'
I've been using Seaside Chassis for my recent builds. https://seasidechassisdesign.com This guy on ebay does a lot of blank standard size chassis, not sure about pure custom work though... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Princeton-Blackface-Reverb-type-chassis/224234586755?hash=item34356c4283:g:KCQAAOSwk7x...

Re: Faceplate for amp
I use plastic plates from Indcom. I ask for no adhesive with mine, as the hardware holds it in place.

Re: LR8: an LM317 on steroids to stabilize up to 450 V
Looks interesting. Hopefully somebody who knows more than me can post a circuit using this in an amp application.

Re: Buying spare parts, which vendors?
You might try Newark. They have a pretty good selection, plus if you want to stock up they usually have good deals on a some parts. For example, I was buying 1k5 resistors for a build that cost $0.12 at mouser. Newark had them for 2 cents a piece. Just random blow out prices at times so it's worth l...

Re: EDCOR OT & PT Anyone have Try ?
I'm pretty sure you can order any OT from Edcor as a UL. They are made to order as far as I know.

Re: Single Ended OT question
I set this up to run either one or two 6V6's, or one 6L6. When I run two 6V6's in parallel I'm getting 436V at steady state, 37V each on the separate cathodes. That's about 10W per tube.
I'm going to install a standby switch with a 600v cap in front of it just to be safe.

Re: Single Ended OT question
An update: This is basically a Bassman AB165 normal channel feeding the SE power section of a AA764 Champ power section. There is a resistor to ground from pin 5 of the 6V6 that I had left off. I assume this is a ground reference. I tacked on a 1M resistor I had laying around and the B+ stabilized a...

Re: Single Ended OT question
I ended up hooking the brown to B+, blue to the tube. The reason I was asking is because I've been fighting this thing trying to understand the voltages. I've got 2 multimeters hooked up, one to the B+, the other to the 6V6 cathode resistor (560 ohm/22uf). I can't get a steady voltage on either mete...

Single Ended OT question
I'm building a SE 6L6 amp. I've got an Allen OT, and was wondering about the wiring. On the Primary side, does it matter which wire goes to B+ and pin 3? On the fender schematics, the secondary side with common corresponds to the primary side going to B+ (brown in this case).
