Re: Calling all Les Paul Gurus...

you have to take gibson serial numbers with a grain of salt they had some over lap and questionable book keeping over the years. You might have better luck basing it off of features and then roughing in the serial #. I have a '68 specs early '69 goldtop deluxe with P-90's I thought was a 70's produ...

Re: Calling all Les Paul Gurus...

Hi Brucep07, Here's a link to a website with IMO rather accurate information concerning vintage guitar specs and dating. The link should lead directly to the Gibson solidbody section: http://home.provide.net/~cfh/gibson5.html Cheers, Max Yea, there is some good info on that page, unfortunately I ca...

Re: Calling all Les Paul Gurus...

So that kind of blows my theory that any of the pots are original... Wonder how accurate that article is? Is it possible that 900,000's also carried over into early 73?

Calling all Les Paul Gurus...

I have what I believe to be an early 70's Les Paul Deluxe that I'm trying to get a mfg date on, was hoping someone here could tell me what to look for. The serial # is 6 digits in the 900,000's, it has "Made in USA" on the back of the headstock, has volute, 3pc mahogany neck, pancake body with a ver...

Re: SHOULD I BUY? tons of tubes -- reply asap!

Lots like this come up on ebay all the time, I have never been able to convince myself to take the chance. Personally, I would only be after "common" tubes, 12ax/au/ay7's, EL84/34, 6L6, 6V6, rectifiers, etc... Don't definitively see many of them from the pictures shown. Seems like most of the "Lots"...

Re: Airbrake II & III

Thanks for the reply. I have that information, but I just noticed that the Airbrake III calls for two adjustable resistors and mentions a footswitch. How is the footswitch wired in? (That would be cool, if it works) On the one adjustable resistor that has only one clamp - where is that one suppose ...

Re: Airbrake II & III?

I'm a newbie, so forgive me for adding to this thread that appears to have annoyed everyone  I would like to build this attenuator and I believe I have found most of the information I need and parts lists. Can anybody tell me the difference between the II and III version? Is there any layout/s...

Re: Shoulder washer for 12a

Hoffman sells the correct fiber shoulder washers. I think the correct keystone part numbers are... 534-3069 shoulder washer 534-3222 flat washer Look em' up, pretty sure those are the correct ones. I got the measurements from the keystone PDF and just ordered the same size ones from mcmaster Carr ca...
