Revisiting my very first amp build
Hi all It has been some time since I have been regularly active on here, but I figured it was time to come back and share a bit. My first amp build was 4-5ish years ago, and was a Marshall 2061x kit from Ceriatone. My build was horrible, the first try probably would have caught fire if I had powered...

Effectrode Tube Drive Mods
Hi everyone, I have an Effectrode tube drive that is too bassy, and I thought you all may be able to help, as it's basically a Soldano SP-77 lead channel in a box. From what I can tell from the manual, the tone control is an active tone control, using one of the 12ax7's to cut/boost the mid-high fre...

Spaceman Titan ii
Hiya everyone, Not sure if this is appropriate for this forum, but Ive got myself a Spaceman Effects Titan ii fuzz that is just a bit too bright for my bf princeton reverb. I was considering puting a ~250pf cap from the output jack of the pedal to ground to darken it up. Would this work or is it not...

Re: Supro s6424 build
Here it is today. Did all the wiring and the amp sounds great. Only trouble is the tremolo. It only works as the amp warms up, and then as the voltages come up it stops. I used a pt with a 300-0-300 secondary as opposed to the 310-0-310 secondary watts' recommends, so voltages are lower than the sch...

Re: Supro s6424 build
Hi all, she's coming together! Progress has been slow since hurricane irma, as my family who lives in the florida keys had stayed with me up at college for a little bit. Getting the g12h30 here was an absolute nightmare, as i sent it to the wrong address and it took a month to get here, but i wont g...

Re: Classic Tone AC-30 trannys?
Ive used the ot as well, the upright version, and think it sounds killer. I love classictone, theyre high quality and the price is right.

Re: Supro s6424 build
Some more parts here today, waiting on the ot and a few other things before i really get the build going. Also got the cabinet ordered, itll be going in an all black high powered tweed twin cab from mojotone. The only modification to the cab i had to have done was to extend the backpannel a bit to a...

What kind of grease for pots
Hiya everyone, i usually use alpha pots for my build, but they are always too loose for me, as in they don't require enough torque to turn, and they make a mechanical scratchy noise when they turn. I recently fiddled with a friedman amp and the pots just felt so good to turn. Is there any kind of gr...

Re: Supro s6424 build
Well, i made my first error of the build! I ordered 1meg linear pots for the tone controls and trem speed. Can i just tack a 1 meg resistor across pins 1 and 3? Thanks!

Re: Hole in celestion blue cone
Well, i ended up getting 65 dollars back, bringing the whole purchase cost to $150. I pushed the paper bak through and used some watered down elmers glue. I think it should be okay, ill take a quick pic to see if anyone thinks i should do anything else.

Hole in celestion blue cone
Hi all, i just purchased a used celestion blue on reverb.com and it came today. It was advertised as mint. I took it out of the box today and there was this small hole near the edge of the cone. I paid $200 for the speaker plus shipping. What should i do about this? Should i return it?
