Re: Anyone built an ef86 dumble?
If you build an amp with some influences from my Clean King amp, it would be really nice if you tell me what you think about it. Again; please feel free to comment or question my thoughts and opinions. of course! Thanks for the methods behind the designs, it helps a lot...Did not mean to say anythi...

Re: Anyone built an ef86 dumble?
firstly thanks so much Svempan, this has really helped. Also many thanks to electron avalanche and the others contributing to the related threads. I am very tempted to build very close to your schematic, predrilling for the extra tube sockets for the dumbleator and cf, then decide once I hear it wha...

Re: Anyone built an ef86 dumble?
thanks Svempan, I have seen your other thread, somehow I thought I was doing something different, but I now see this is not the case, at least not so much. I originally was going towards 6550, and have some tubes for just that, I was leaning away only because I thought i might make for an easier bui...

Anyone built an ef86 dumble?
I was wondering if anyone had built a clone with an ef86 in v1? I'm considering this myself....But I am thinking of a more clean only amp, so likely I'll omit the OD stage, and sub that in with a built in dumbleator....I really like the extra harmonics the dumbleator adds to my other dumble clones (...

Re: Is there an "all in one" parts supplier?
I've never found one, that offered the parts I want at the best price. You could probably get all but the rn65's from antique electronics, other might have better prices on some items. Where I buy my transformers, well lets just say thats all I like from that distributor. I suppose mouser.com might ...

Re: RN65 vs CF
Embarassed Ok, after brushing up on some tube theory, it appears a larger plate R = more gain, although I don't understand why except in terms of less current draw across the resistor keeps the voltage higher, translating to more gain. Maybe I can clear this up simply....Its not what I thought when...

Re: Dumbleator Power Suppy question
I just finished a stand alone dumbelator....single tube cathode follwer send and gain return...The basic schemo posted by normster and funk a while back....And yes, that schemo has no power supply drawn. Cathode follwer plate to (2) and gain plate to (3) after the 100k. You want in the 320-330 b+ ra...

Re: The End of 18Watt.com
I too see this as a very sad day in amp building history, it will go on my calendar like the other great american tragedies. coffee in the morning, check out the new info, then I was ready for work. And a great after lunch read. I think the worst is it was a great was for those selling kits to get e...
