Cork borers work well in soft materials. They can be obtained from laboratory suppliers. If the foam has some stiffness, foerstner bits can be used.Cornelius wrote: ...how does one make nice uniform holes for the tubes?

The people at THD told me they could be difficult to get apart. You have to open them to replace the bulb sometimes. Mine was easier that expected to get apart. Everything slid out of the extrusion.
