Old Metal (envelope) tubes
I have no experience with these, but I’ve run across some NIB 6v6 and 6l6. Would love to hear your thoughts about using these. TIA.

Try to avoid measuring voltage when the dial is set for current. Fluke Has that internal mA fuse that costs a fortune.

Re: Fluxtone Speakers
Yup, I've power scaled/VVR'ed dozens of amps w/ success. I find them to work really well in the range I usually scale, which is above the halfway mark. Appears the fluxtone exhibits the same results. Doesn't seem like the components involved would justify the cost. Would like to know what it is that...

Another cranked tone at lower SPLs product.
Anyone out there know how these tick? They're REAL expensive and come w/ a box of active electronics. Their site doesn't exactly tell you how they work, just what they do.

Re: 5150 on bench
About five years ago, I replaced the output tube board in my friends 5150 w/ an aluminium plate and chassis mounted sockets in PTP fashion. Wasn't too difficult. Also added adjustable bias. The power R in question is indeed 400R/10W, but I do like the choke idea. Nothin wrong w/ making an amp mo bet...

Re: Morgan AC20 and EF86 AC15 question
The cathode R for EF86 in the top amp is 22k, the one in the bottom is 3.3k. 220k vs, 100k plate R another difference. Should I keep going?

Re: Vox/Matchless Cut control
The track taper type and wiring of the control probably has as much affect on its operation as the track value. eg is full CW the most or least trebley setting? The old '60's JMI AC-30s were wired for least trebley at full CW, if anybody is interested. Has anyone noted how the Matchless type was wi...
