New 3rd gen build
All, After many weeks of sourcing parts and studying a lot of the resources available and suggested here, as well as completing several prior builds from kits, I am finally off the ground with a 3rd gen 50W build based on Tony's layout with a few tweaks. I thought I'd post some of my progress as I g...

Re: Has anyone used an octal socket relay in a 2nd/3rd gen?
Todd,
Thanks for the feedback. I may go the miniature route but am hoping to keep faithful to the 70s style and avoid another board. Not a big deal though. I also found a 12VDC relay at Radio Shack for $10 that looks similar to the old Calrad. I'll likely experiment with a couple of options.

Has anyone used an octal socket relay in a 2nd/3rd gen?
Hey guys, I am researching parts for a 2nd/3rd gen custom build but the relay options are throwing me off a little. Do you think something like this octal socket relay would work okay? At least it would look kind of similar to the Calrad. http://www.futurlec.com/Relays/GR12VDCOCTDPDT.shtml Thanks! B...

Re: Gil Ayan tone cut control for non HRM amps.
Cool pic of my crazy cap nest! I'm just getting into the mods and have just done the one Ceriatone amp and this simple mod so i won't try to dive too much into the tech discussion here yet. FWIW, I don't notice volume changes and I only typically switch it when I change guitars. Since i posted the p...
