Re: power trannies

Just a couple of lines to tell that this time Ingo surprised me , and I 've got the transfomers today. As already told these are very well built and each one comes with a test and measurement certificate. I am a little confused as I can't forget how long it took to get this transformers, but finally...

Re: "Dongbiter" 30 pics online

I think you are right on top of a ken Fischer ism... less of the wrong stuff is better. No it's not really a new idea but it won't stop me from putting one together out of curiosity and also adds a since of completion to my TrainWreck studies. rj believe me, there is nothing wrong in building one. ...

Re: "Dongbiter" 30 pics online

not really intrigued by such design. Nothing new under the sun.
The only thing that comes to my mind is: " The less, the better"
Only thing I would like to understand is if "the better" is intended for the sound or the financial part.....

Nit really confortable to solder them, and you'll need to isolate each pin with a few shrinking tubing.
But the quality is excellent.
They are around 10 usd each.

Re: power trannies

in the meantime I've dropped an email to Ingo regarding my transformers, I've sent him an email just after my message here, and a remainder 5 minutes ago, but by now not a single message from him has come. Am I supposed to make bad thoughts? ps: sorry to hack this thread for my own interest, but bei...

Re: power trannies

here is the italian member that was complaining about Ingo. I recentely saw in the sloclone forum that somebody else was complaining about the same issues, and Ingo himself just jumped in saying he was sorry and he was going to make a iron set for this guy. But i don't know whether it' s a fake news...

Re: Carr Rambler oscillations on certain notes

i tend to think it's a mechanical issue linked to the speaker or to the tubes. i've owned a carr rambler and have built some amps based on that design. never ever heard of such problems A decent technician with a scope and a signal generator will tell you in 5 minutes if that's an electronic issue o...

i own all 6 tut ( got the first 5 issues 2nd hand ) and are definitely a good investment for the serious builder.
Bear in mind BTW, that these books are a reflection of the author's thoughts and sometimes are IMHO questionable.
In any case a sort of Bible for a lot of things.

Re: teflon B+ runs

never tried kimber, but i wired one of my amp completely with solid core 99,99% silver. Shimmering treble and deep but dry bass. Middle range has somehow "natural" emission . More air between the notes. As usual is difficult to explain . The only certain thing is that it seems diffferent form the no...

Re: New 70s Hybrid project (colour scheme?)

Pls. be advised that I cannot reccomend Ingo Gorges for the tranformers. I'm not talking about the quality of the products that is great. But The man is unreliable. I'm still waiting since 3 or 4 years a set of transformers that has been paid in full and has never been delivered. I know everything o...

Re: Xits X10 = liverpool half power?

In my experience a small output tranformer gives ou always an uncontrolled farty bass range and the general feeling is of a "constipated" sound.
I always use large transformers. Much better for dynamics and the sound is always airy, but with a lot of richness in the mid range.

Hi Surfsup.
Nice to know you finally got it.
I think I'll try a 6v6 version either, so to have a little rounder and bluesier sound.
