If you are using an aluminum chassis this is a pointless exercise since Aluminum is impervious to magnetism, and offers no RF shielding. You would almost need to have your aluminum coated with alodyne for the shielding to have any effect. In my case, I needed something that grounded to the chassis....

I got a roll of aluminum flashing at home depot. Phil This is what I used. Used a paddle bit in my drill press to make clean holes for the chassis mounts (for the bottom piece). and just use a good staple gun to hold in place. Score it with a razor knife then break it to get the size you want. USE ...

I'm still new to building, but my first advice is try a bunch of different tubes! Tubes can be very finicky!

Not enough to bother the amp. DC30s are supposed to be very reliable and toneful amps. I don't own one, but I like them.

It was a good story, up until you bought the V. To me guitars and amps are never investments.

Speaking of word of mouth... I had one OCD customer who thought I was taking too long with his amp, so he smeared me all over the net (including a bad Harmony Central review).
