I’ve built a few amps with built in Dumbleator. I thought it made the amp sound better at lower volumes.
You could always wire in a bypass switch or build a pedal version.

Do you have a scope?
Is there signal getting to the tonestack recovery?
Can you hear if the the tone controls have any effect?
Could be the coupling cap before the 470k mixer?

I can relate, I currently have a JMP Master Volume on the bench with low signal as well.

The excess wire poking through the wiper lug on the volume pot looks very close to the ground lug, check its not touching it.

Whats the voltage on the cathode of V3B?

Hi Phil, The drive channel was a favourite on mine as well. I also did the Jose Arredondo diode mod on mine with a push/pull pot. On the schematic the bright caps on the volume pots are drawn wrong, should be on pins 1-2 not 1-3. Regarding your no signal, what are the voltages on V3B? Maybe post a p...
