Re: EL34 Excessive Screen Dissipation
It's not an RMS meter, but given the readings I got I'd say it was close enough. All you need to do is get the peak to peak voltage on your scope, then divide by 2.828. That gives you the RMS voltage. Ciao, Lou Isn’t that only valid for a sine wave; and the waveform on a screen grid may be way off ...

Re: Favourite speaker boxes?
I did have a Mitchell Thiele-style 1x12, but it was way too bassy for my room. I played a lot of rooms with that system, and never had issues with too much bass. But, different manufacturers so.... Now, on the other hand, when I bought the first Tone Master head, I got the matching 4x12 cab with it...

Re: Favourite speaker boxes?
Ah, another “one that got away” story.... (I have lots of’em). Back in the late 80’s, I put a stereo rack rig that featured two 100W Fender Tone Master heads, a Mesa Quad Preamp, TC2290, two Moog 3-Band Parametric EQ’s among other nice stuff. My speakers for the system were a pair Mesa 1x12 Thiele c...

Re: '63 Blonde Bassman 6G6B
A few years back, Weber were selling a modern-day equivalent of the 350K with 70K tap pots. Don’t know how close it is to the real thing, but I bought one to use in a ‘61 Fender Concert style build I am working on. The tone stack sounds great to these old ears... Re: 2020 Monkeymatic Tone Cube
It looks like we have the same tablesaw: circa 70’s craftsman 10” belt drive... I finally gave up on the rip fence that I had to pound with my fist to get to move, and put a shopfox fence on it. Big improvement!

Re: MESA BOOGIE 50 Caliber+ (2x6L6) - Circuit Board Wanted
Have you tried calling Mesa and asking if they can supply replacement boards for these? (707) 778-6565 Mon - Thurs, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. California time. I would advise this too. I had a DC5 in for service a whole bunch of years ago. I needed a part. I can’t remember now what it was, but I do recall th...

Speaker recommendations please; Fender HR Deville 4x10
Hello All! I have a Hot Rod Deville 4x10 on the bench. The customer (a good friend) wanted the Fromel Supreme Mod Kit installed as well as all new pots. Done and done. Normally, I would play the amp before repairs begin, but since this is a friend’s amp, I didn’t think there would be any gotchas. Th...

Re: Polytone Mini-Brute III - replacement power amp
I would guess the PT in the polytone was just big enough to power the original amp’s rated output power. I really wouldn’t expect much more output power from the new power amp. You could always put it on a dummy load and see what it can do. If I am not mistaken polytone uses mostly 4-Ohm speakers. N...
