Hi, In a Express type amp if you removed the TMB EQ & installed a simple Vol & Tone (6G3 Fender) EQ would you still need the 2nd gain stage? Input - Gain stage 1 - Vol / Tone - 2nd Gain Stage (typical TW 3rd Gain stage) - PI etc.. How different would this to a typical TW in terms of gain & distortio...

I was comparing the Wreck values to the Fender AB763 values on the Duncan tonestack program.

They both have the mid dip at the same frequency, the exception being that the wreck values had more dB gain. Does this dB gain make that much of a difference?

Looking at the dumble schematics is there a reason why Dumble would have used 12AX7's in the PI rather than the 12AT7?

Is it because he wanted to achieve certain plate voltages, or was it availability of the actual tube type?

I'm thinking of buying a Ceriatone Express and running some JJ6V6's through it, and hooking it up to some Greenbacks in a 2x12 cab. Can someone tell me how loud this will be? Maybe compared to some popular amps.
