Re: Sorry I've been absent but ...
I must admit total ignorance here. I'm probably the only person who's into this sort of thing that doesn't know what the Rich mod is.
I have heard of it mind you

Re: Ken Fischer Marshall mods
Dear Erigm
I wrote to Ken last year and asked him about the mods he did to Marshall among other topics and he didn't say anything about them. I should point out, this didn't bother me, as I didn't really expect a reply due to Ken's illness, I was quite grateful Ken took the time out to write to me.

Talk to you about it them.

The bad news.
Dear justin The turret board material was sold by RS components. They have since discontinued selling the board material but continue to sell the turrets. I believe the smaller standard turrets are the ones to use in these amps. The larger turrets are similar to ones used in Marshall amps. FYI, I di...

Layout and transformers
Dear JeffKT I'll look forward to seeing your drawing. Of course you are correct about the transformers, they are normally built by Pacific, however they are almost impossible to get without owning a Trainwreck (I imagine.) We here have had a stoke of good luck with Heybour being prepared to sell us ...

Re: traynor a good platform for a twreck/komet style amp?
I believe that Matt Taylor used a Traynor as a chassis for his Express amp, perhaps Matt will chime in and show you a few photo's of his build?

Re: Mallory Electrolytics
Dear Jeff I have tried a few output transformers with various prototype clones that I have built. I agree having a good transformer is essential. I'm quite keen to see your circuit diagram, I'd also like to see a drawing of how the power supply was laid out. I think I've mentioned this in various po...

The big question.
Dear JeffKT I suppose the big question is did you take any photo's of your amp, did you draw the circuit of your particular Trainwreck out? Regarding selling your Trainwreck, at least you had the forsight to buy one in the first place. It was all over before many of us could even make a purchase. Ni...

Re: Trem-Rocket anyone????
Dear Chris I haven't even seen a picture of one of these amps. I think that you'd need to see the rear shot to know what is going on in the back of the amp. There has to some controls on the rear of the amp, such as speed at very least, not to mention turning the effect on and off. I suppose the rea...

Mouser perhaps?
I don't know if Mouser is one of the better places to buy these caps from, but they do sell them. The part numbers are as follows: Mouser part number for 9.1K metal oxide resistors : 283-9.1k Mouser part number for 25 watt “choke” resistor: 280-cr25-1K Liverpool cathode resistor: either 280-cr10-50 ...

Re: Hi - newbie making 18W Liverpool
my main question is whether you guys have any favourite values for the cap and resistor between the 2nd and 3rd stage? I'm planning to start with .0022uF and 68K. Thoughts? I would start with these two values and work you way from there. 0.0047uF cap and a 68K resistor. To me the 68K resistor has t...

9.1K metal oxide resistors?
I was wondering if anyone knows who sells 9.1K (normally 3 watt) metal oxide resistors?
I haven't had any problems finding 18K resistors, but the 9.1K resistors are eluding me.
Thanks for your help.
