Re: 18 watt express
STKs are great!! The fact that Mojo is selling them as NOS is completely horseshit. You can order them directly from STK.

Re: Our Future
You can knock NDT all you want, but compared to the other utter shit that is called TV today, COSMOS and NDT are fucking brilliant!! I like Sagan's version better myself.

Re: PP/SE control for Liverpool
There is no reason to use a switched pot for this application, and I would wager that it would pop loudly if you try it. Essentially the se/pp control acts like half a ppimv, you are sending signal to ground from one side of the PA. With your setup, when the pot is fully on pp, your resistance is 23...

Re: Liverpool Audio/Video Clips - Originals, Clones, Hybrids
This one used a mish-mash of parts, all good stuff but chosen for a reason. Heyboer transformers, some Mallory 150s, some 6PS, some STKs, 1W CFs, but a typical Liverpool topology. Tube with top notch NOS. I also put what I call a harmonics control on it, which does the pp to se thing and everything ...

Re: Liverpool Audio/Video Clips - Originals, Clones, Hybrids
Here's a few clips done by a great local guitarist, Terry Hiatt. He demos one of my early Vapour models, which is very Liverpool like. Nice variety of tones from these samples.

It's Dana Hall's device and it should work fine in a 50w Marshall.

Re: Cloning a circuit
Good discussion!! Unfortunately these days most amps manufactured by the big dogs are pcb based with machine inserted components and wave soldered. Assembly is bolting everything to the chassis and plugging cables into their solderless connectors. It removes nearly any notion of what they are assemb...

Re: Band Master AB763 trouble
Could be a leaky PI coupling cap. I have seen this in a few amps. Frustrating to find, but a simple fix. Check the voltage on the power tube grids with the power tubes pulled and PI tube in place. A leaky coupling cap will pass DC current and mess up the bias of the power tubes. You said with the ca...

Re: Band Master AB763 trouble
Check all your ground points. Also, start at V1 and remove preamp tubes one at a time. This should help you track it down as the fault could be anywhere before the PI or the PI itself. Also, photos help us help you.

Being from Minnesota, I already knew that there are babes that curl. The St. Paul Curling Club was next door to one of my favorite bars. Oh yeah, I like this photo of Carmen too!!! Hmmmm, tongue stud. What ever is that for? [img:435:512]http://distinctathlete.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/carmen-sc...

Re: WTF, 150M caps price will double!?
Plenty of choices for great signal caps available for a decent price. Also, why are you quoting price increases on 200V and 250V caps?
