Bassman 100 help !
Hi Guys, A bass player friend of mine picked up a "nice" Bassman 100 recently and I said I'd give it a recap and retube for him. Anyway, he dropped it off cheerfully this morning and I've just opened it up. Where to start !? The pics say it all really. I need a layout for a Bassman 100 if anyone has...

Re: Dumble-modded Twin
Looks like the same amp.
Unless HAD modified two Twins for Stephen Stills on the same day.
I hope the owner chimes in here, it would be nice to see the amp and talk about it.

Re: Am I ok to run 6L6's in a 5E3 ?
Rob - Have you determined that you have the Pro Reverb OT? I thought that was the burning question at the top of this thread. I don't have the Pro Reverb tranny. I'm going to try some Sylvania 6L6WGB's in there, I just bought an NOS pair off ebay UK. I'll just keep an eye in the power trans for ove...

Re: Am I ok to run 6L6's in a 5E3 ?
Where have you been hiding? Long time no hear Rob! I'm always lurking ! :D I'm busy with work and bands and the amps have gone from collecting to just the ones I use and play out with. I joined a quite busy band last year, The Stumble - http://www.thestumble.com and I spend a lot of my spare time t...

Re: Am I ok to run 6L6's in a 5E3 ?
Hi Chaps, Thanks for all the great input and advice. Re tubes, I'm currently running an EH12AY7 in v1 and an old RCA 12AX7 in v2, rectifier is NOS RCA 5Y3, outputs are NOS Brimar 6V6's. I'll try a lower gain tube in v2 as I have a few lying around. A friend suggested that he liked a 5V4 in the recti...

Am I ok to run 6L6's in a 5E3 ?
Hi Chaps,
I want to know if I'm going to damage anything if I try this? It would be nice to get a little more headroom out of my 5E3 build. Transformers are Mission Amps supplied.
Cheers,
Rob.

Re: Finished my 5E3 Deluxe build
Thanks for all the comments chaps. It's great to feel the encouragement ! I haven't got to grips with the interactive controls yet to find the sweetest spot in the amp. I'd be interested to know where you think the sweetest tone is. I have gigged with it now a few times, mic'ed up and un-mic'ed. I a...

This brings back memories ! I used to work there !
I spent two years between the Blackburn site and the Simonstone site in the Systems Dept.

Re: Finished my 5E3 Deluxe build
Yes the wood is very old, they are big wide floorboards from an old Victorian School which was being demolished, it dates from the mid to late 1800's. I held a four foot piece in my hand and it was the same weight as an 18" piece of new pine. I have a Super Reverb cab built out of it, it's amazingly...

Re: Finished my 5E3 Deluxe build
Thanks for the kind words chaps. I certainly have got the bug now and I'm already thinking about the next one. It will probably be a 5E7 Bandmaster.I was lucky enough to get a few close up photos of a real one a couple of weeks ago, it was owned by Jonny Marr. It's going to be carbon comps and Jupit...

Finished my 5E3 Deluxe build
Hi Chaps, I've just finished my build and I'm eager to show off the results! I've been working on amps for a long time, but oddly I've never built one from scratch....until now. I really enjoyed the process, it was very relaxing and therapeutic. The good news is, that it fired up first time without ...

Gil, I've not added pics to the Dumble Archive for some time now, but this is one that deserves it. With your permission, may I add these to the archive?
