Re: Can anyone identify this 12AY7 ?

2 votes for GE !

Not bad for £1.71 ( I hope ).

I've got to finish this Deluxe before I can test it though!

Cheers,
Rob.

Can anyone identify this 12AY7 ?

I'm building a 5E3 from scratch and this 12AY7 cropped up on ebay. As I think most, if not all 12AY7's were manufactured in the US, I guess this should be a re-branded something else, can anyone identify it? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300658104783?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2648 Ch...

80's Dumble 1x12 cab

Hi Chaps, I've been sent these pics by a friend of mine who is selling this cab. I thought they might also be of some interest here. It is all original and he's owned it for the past 15 years. If anyone has any interest, I can pass on your details. Cheers, Rob. [img:1280:960]http://personalpages.man...

Re: Dumble #33 Schematic

This amp has been around the block a few times. The first three pictures on my site, I took myself at my house, I had this amp at home for a while to sell it for the owner (current owner of #155). The rest of the pictures came from somewhere else but it's so long ago I'd have to wade through lots of...

Re: Buying from Weber

I've been buying Weber speakers for a long time, probably 15 years. I live in the UK and I've never had a serious problem. Once a pair of C10N's didn't show up. After three weeks, Ted sent another pair (for free) which arrived in due course. The first pair arrived a week later, crushed flat like a t...

Re: Boogie MKIIB ....... hmmm

Certainly filters will help. They are original and had a 10-15 year lifespan before declining in quality. I like the TAD's as they fit well (small) and work very good. I would speak with Mesa (mike knows the amp well), and perhaps they can guide you. BTW: The reverb wires are correct. One shielded ...

Re: Boogie MKIIB ....... hmmm

Thanks for the help chaps. I've had the chassis out again and cleaned all the jacks and sockets etc, I now have a decent reverb ! Just goes to show, a bit of TLC goes a long way. The clean channel on this amp is absolutely wonderful, input vol on 7, treble 6.5, middle 5, bass 2.5, reverb 3.5, presen...

Re: Boogie MKIIB ....... hmmm

Thanks for the input chaps. I've been away for a few days so not had chance to respond. I'm getting the idea that it's the clean channel on these amps which is where it's at. Not many people use the lead side of the amp and prefer to use a decent pedal. Apparently Mike Bendenelli still takes these a...

Boogie MKIIB ....... hmmm

Hi Chaps, This weekend I bought a hardwood Boogie MKIIB #7069 and I've got some issues with it....... The amp has me a little puzzled, so I need some advice from those here who have more experience with them. If anyone can help me out I'd very much appreciate it. I'd also like you to look at the amp...

See my edit above. I don't think it's a stock bassman chassis.

Re: 59 Fender Bassman with Dumble La Tostada mod

I've done a bit of asking around about this one, and it does seem that A. Dumble had many pet names for mod amps, the nearest thing we've found to a modded '59 bassman is the Manzamp. My friend Paul has sent me two pics of a Manzamp and for the first time in years I have updated the Dumble archive w...

He's at Band on the Wall in Manchester Sunday 8th May. The venue is great, the best around. My mate Mike is the soundman.

I'm also going to see Matt Schofield there on the Thursday before (5th).

Leeds is maybe an hour tops on the train.

Scott Henderson.......

Hi Chaps, Scott Henderson is coming to a great venue near me in May. I've heard lots about him, but never listened to anything ! Anyway, I checked out some stuff on YouTube today to see if I'd fancy getting tickets. From what I've seen/heard his stuff is pretty avant garde........or erm....inaccessi...

Re: Ceriatone Overtone HRM Transformers recomendation

Hi, I got a really nice sounding 50w output transformer from Brandon at Bludotone. If they are good enough for Larry Carlton they are good enough for me. The price was very reasonable I think and certainly cheaper than the Mercurys. Not sure if he sells these as a matter of routine, maybe I just got...
