Re: fender Bassman 50 to #102 Robben Ford Dumble amp
Hi Smitty, The cab is bigger than the original TL806 design. The speaker area and ports are to spec but he added a little bit to the cab so it wold be the same size as my head. I think I have the cab sorted out. I caulked all seams, replaced all screws with bigger ones, installed gasket material bet...

Re: Insulating a Thiele TL806 cabinet ?????
I did have some pillow batting in the cab but I used staples. I ripped that out and siliconed all the seams and picked up some bigger screws. All the joints are glued and screwed but a bunch of the screws are stripped. I also picked up some weather stripping for the baffle board and back panel of th...

Insulating a Thiele TL806 cabinet ?????
I get a low level buzz through the cab speaker when I drive the speaker a bit. I have an EVM2L in the cab and I've tried a couple on them so I ruled out the speaker as the problem. I ran my fender twin through the cab and it still did the same thing. Im going to go through the cab to make sure every...

Re: fender Bassman 50 to #102 Robben Ford Dumble amp
Just wasted time and money re-coning these speakers. It turns out its something with the cab. I hooked my fender twin to the cab and it did the same thing. I guess I need to look ay the can to see how well its made and if I have an air tight seal. Is insulation a big thing with these cabs? Does anyo...

I re-coned two of the speakers today. Letting them sit over night to dry.

Re: Ultimate Hammond Conversions thread
I think I've parted out about 20 organs or more in the last 10 years. I believe the L100 is the best one for an amp conversion. I have found some other ones that have great iron but the L100 has a good size chassis for an amplifier build. I have another chassis sitting in my basement that has a nice...

KT66 in a 102 dumble style amplifier??
Hi Guys,
Has anyone tried KT66's in Dumble style amps? If so what did you think? I was thinking of trying a set in my Bassman / RF dumble clone.
Thanks
Keith

Re: fender Bassman 50 to #102 Robben Ford Dumble amp
I believe mine are from the 80'd but I would have to take another look to make sure. Here is what was happening with all three of my speakers. When I started to push them and get the cone moving i'd get a low level buzz through the speaker. I checked my cab and she seems solid. I was doing the test ...

Re: fender Bassman 50 to #102 Robben Ford Dumble amp
I'm having issues with my EV's. I think they might be getting some voice coil rub. I get some weird noise on the low notes when I start to push them a bit. I have to do more tests but I'm thinking I'll need to order some recone kits. Oh whell, I got them cheep enough so I'm not too sad about the who...
